Students with non-South African qualifications must attach a SAQA evaluation certificate with their previous degrees obtained

How to manually apply for Rhodes University

Download the application form from www.ru.ac.za and submit it. Fill out the form completely, answering all questions in black ink (pen). Check that the names on your identity document (ID) and certificates are the same and in the same order, and include the aforementioned documents before submitting them to the Student Bureau at Rhodes University, Po Box 94 Grahamstown, 6140.

How to Apply for Rhodes Online Application

To apply online at Rhodes University for 2026, follow the procedure below

Go to https://www.ru.ac.za/.
Place the cursor on the Studying tab and select an option called ONLINE APPLICATION
You will be taken to the application gateway.
Select the ROSS link.
You will be directed to a page where you must log in as Admission (not yet enrolled at Rhodes)
To access ROSS, you must first register as an online user and/or receive login information from Rhodes University.
Use your student number and password to log in if you have already been assigned one.
If you have not yet registered for online applications and wish to apply to Rhodes, please click the link and follow the instructions.
Sign up for a new undergraduate admission, Honours, Masters, or PhD program.
After selecting your qualifications, complete the form.
An email will be sent to the address you specified.
You must activate your account by clicking the link in the email message.
You can now access the application portal by entering your username and password.
Complete every form on the nine topics on the application page
Download and complete the document under the COMPLETED section.
The document is read by the deans. Once completed, save it as a pdf in Word and upload it in the section. Accepted format: pdf. (Maximum Size: 2MB)
