The University of South Africa (Unisa) undergraduate and graduate programs are currently accepting applications for 2026. There is no other way to apply but to fill out and submit an online application form using the UNISA admission tool.

When to Apply for UNISA 2026 Admissions

The University of South Africa (UNISA) will accept applications for the 2026 academic year from August 11 to November 14, 2025. Please submit your application within the given period, since late applications will not be considered

Can I apply at Unisa for 2026 admissions?

Every year, the University of South Africa (Unisa) welcomes new students for undergraduate, postgraduate, and distant learning programs. Anyone who wants to further their education can apply for admission at Unisa.

Unisa may reject an application even if the candidate satisfies the requirements owing to limited availability. Prospective students are urged to apply if they qualify for any of the courses provided by Unisa.

Who May Not Be Eligible for Admission at Unisa?

While Unisa welcomes applications from all qualified individuals, there are some exceptions:

Current Unisa students: Students already enrolled in a program cannot apply to change their qualification or specialization without following the proper internal procedures.
Graduating students: applicants who are completing their undergraduate studies at any institution are not eligible to apply for further studies at this time.

When to Expect Feedback on Your UNISA Application for 2026

Generally, you can expect feedback on your application for UNISA in 2026, four weeks after submitting your application. However, if you have submitted all the required documents correctly and completely, you may receive your admission decision earlier.

Who Must Pay the Application Fee for 2026 Admissions?

Prospective first-time University of South Africa (Unisa) applicants are required to pay a non-refundable application fee of R135.00 for the 2026 academic year. This fee covers the processing of your application for both self-help and online programs.

Existing Unisa students are exempt from paying the application fee as they already have a student number, which is only issued upon successful payment of the initial application fee.
