SA Universities Open Admission Applications for 2025-2026
While the majority of South African universities will open their application windows on April 1st for the 2025–2026 academic year, some, like Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) and the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits), will formally open their applications in March 2024. While you wait for the start of the 2025–2026 university application cycle in South African universities, it will be best to gather your application materials.

Nelson Mandela University (NMU) applications for the academic year 2025–2026
Nelson Mandela University (NMU) will formally open its application window on April 1, 2024, and close it on September 30, 2024, for the academic year 2025–2026. The same application deadline applies to students from abroad as well as those who are looking for housing.
NMU will accept late applications only if programs are still available after the deadline.
Nelson Mandela University does not require local applicants to pay an application fee. However, all international applicants are required to pay an annual application fee of R500.

Rhodes University (RU) applications for 2025–2026
Applications for admission to Rhodes University (RU) are between April 1 and September 30, 2024. This is Rhodes University’s official application date for 2025–2026.
Both domestic and foreign applicants must submit their applications by the deadline; however, the registrar reserves the right to accept late submissions from South African students.
When applying to Rhodes University for the 2025–2026 academic year, all applicants—new or returning—must pay a non-refundable fee of R100. Make sure you have the money and upload the proof of payment via the application portal after payment.

Applications for University of Johannesburg (UJ) 2025–2026
For all undergraduate programs, applications to the University of Johannesburg (UJ) in 2025 will be accepted for a long period, starting on Monday, April 1, 2024, and ending on Thursday, October 31, 2024.
Prospective postgraduate applicants should check with their department or faculty member, as the deadline varies based on the faculty.
Whereas all South African citizens can apply online for free, international applicants must pay an R200 processing fee at the time of application.

University of Fort Hare (UFH) Online Applications 2025-2026
The University of Fort Hare (UFH) will formally close on September 30, 2024, after opening its application window for candidates seeking undergraduate and honours degrees on April 1, 2024.
However, since August 31, 2024, is the official closing date for international students, international applicants are encouraged to submit their applications along with the non-refundable application by that date.
Applicants to the University of Fort Hare, whether domestic or foreign, must apply and pay a non-refundable application fee of R120.

University of Limpopo (UL) Online Applications 2025-2026
Online applications for undergraduate and graduate studies at the University of Limpopo (UL) will be available starting on April 1, 2024, and closing on October 31, 2024. On September 28, 2024, the degrees of Bachelor of Surgery and Bachelor of Medicine will be closed. The last day of all other undergraduate programs is October 31, 2024.
International applicants must pay R750 to the University of Limpopo, while South African applicants must pay R200. The online application form must be completed, and all necessary supporting materials must be submitted, for your application to be deemed complete.

University of Mpumalanga Online Applications 2025-2026
Good news if you’re an undergraduate hoping to apply to the University of Mpumalanga (UMP)! Applications for undergraduate, advanced, and postgraduate diploma programs will be accepted starting June 1, 2024, and closing on November 30, 2024.
Conversely, Master’s and PhD programs will begin on June 1, 2024, and end on January 30, 2025.
A non-refundable application fee of R150.00 must be paid by all domestic applicants as well as the Southern African Development Community (SADC); application fees for citizens of other African nations and nations outside of Africa are R350 and R500, respectively.
Before the relevant closing date, payment must be made at the closest Standard Bank using the account number 333270347.

Vaal University of Technology Online Applications 2025-2026
The Vaal University of Technology will open its online application process for the 2024 intake on April 1, 2024. The Vaal University of Technology will open and activate its online application portal for South African applicants seeking undergraduate and graduate degrees from Monday, April 1, 2024, to Monday, September 30, 2024. However, the deadline for international students for the 2025 intake is Sunday, January 26, 2025.
Together with the 2025–2026 application form, you must provide a non-refundable administration fee of R100.00 (for South African citizens) and R110.00 (for foreign citizens). Certified copies of your identification or passport document, Senior Certificate or National Senior Certificate, and any other pertinent documents

University of Pretoria (UP) Online Applications 2025-2026
The University of Pretoria (UP) will welcome applications for the 2025–2026 academic year on April 1, 2024. The University of Pretoria (UP) online application will be accessible through June 30, 2024.
On May 31, 2024, the University of Pretoria’s Faculty of Veterinary Science will close. The University of Pretoria will close for the 2025–2026 academic year on June 30, 2024, for all other faculties.
Applicants who intend to submit their applications online are required to pay a non-refundable application fee of R300.00.

University of the Western Cape (UWC) Online Applications 2025-2026
Applications for the 2025–2026 academic year is open on May 13, 2024 and close on September 30, 2024
All students who wish to continue their education during the 2025–2026 academic year can apply online at the University of the Western Cape (UWC) starting on May 10, 2024. The online application period for the University of the Western Cape (UWC) ends on September 30, 2024.
To apply to the University of the Western Cape (UWC), there is no application fee. Your online application must be completed, along with the necessary supporting documentation, for it to be deemed complete.
All application documents must be submitted by 13:00 on September 30, 2024.

Walter Sisulu University Online Applications 2025-2026
Prospective Students wanting to study at Walter Sisulu University (WSU) in 2025–2026 must submit an online application between May 1 and October 31, 2024. It’s interesting to note that there is no application fee to enroll at South Africa’s Walter Sisulu University. When you’re prepared to submit your application and have gathered all necessary supporting documentation, double-check the data entered into the application.
To be considered for admission to Walter Sisulu University as an international student, all application materials must be sent by midnight on October 31, 2024.

Sol Plaatje University Online Applications 2025-2026
Undergraduate and postgraduate applications for the 2025 academic year will be open from April 1 to November 30, 2024.
Applications are being accepted for enrollment in all graduate and undergraduate programs at Sol Plaatje University (SPU) for the year 2025. Applications must be submitted by November 30, 2024. Prospective students can apply to study at the university online through this system. There is no application fee, so there is no cost to apply.
Online application for undergraduate studies at Stellenbosch University open on April 21, 2024 and close on 31 July 2024

Stellenbosch University Online Applications 2025-2026
For the graduate and undergraduate programs at Stellenbosch University, applications are now being accepted beginning on April 21, 2024, for the year 2025. Applications must be submitted by November 30, 2024.
Applicants from Quintile 1-4 schools in South Africa and abroad are not required to pay an application fee to Stellenbosch University. Applicants to Quintile 5 schools are required to pay an application fee of R100.
Cape Peninsula University of Technology Online Applications 2025-2026
Candidates may submit up to three choices for undergraduate and graduate programs at Cape Peninsula University of Technology between May 15, 2024, and March 15, 2025. Cape Peninsula University of Technology will begin accepting online applications for the 2025 academic year on May 15, 2024. All undergraduate program applications at CPUT will come to an end by October 31, 2024. The closing date for a Full Research Master’s and Doctoral Studies will remain open until March 15, 2025.
Before your application form is complete, you must pay a non-refundable application fee of R100. A copy of the payment receipt must be attached to the application form. The original payment confirmation should be stored safely. It is a prerequisite that all applicants need to follow.
