The University of Johannesburg is inviting all prospective applicants who have completed their senior high schools or colleges or want to transfer from another institution to the university to apply as soon as possible for the 2024/2025 academic year.

What you need as an applicant to apply for admissions:

As an applicant to UJ, the following documents are necessary for your application process. The application will not be processed without these documents. The documents differ from where you are applying i.e. Local or international applications. Find out from this list of documents

If you are applying from South Africa, Upload or submit the following documents

  1. Copies of your identification documents that have been certified (ID)
  2. A certified copy of your Grade 12 examination results if you have completed
  3. Certified copy of your Grade 11 (if you’re in Grade 12 right now)
  4. A working email address is required

International Applicants must also upload or email these documents for their application form to be processed

  1. A certified copy of your native country’s identification document
  2.  A certified copy of your passport number from your home country
  3. Study Visa in South Africa
  4. Medical Report
  5. English Proficiency For Undergraduate programs, proof of IELTS with an overall score of 6 and TOEFL with an average score of 80–104 is required. For those whose high school courses were taught in a language other than English, this is applicable.

Who is eligible to apply for admission at the University of Johannesburg for 2024/2025:

Despite having the aforementioned documents ready, you may be ineligible to apply for admission. The following individuals are qualified to submit an application for admission to the 2024/2025 academic year:

  • First-time applicants applying to the university for the very first time in 2024/2025
  • Students who have never been given the University of Johannesburg student number in the previous years
  • Students who are already enrolled in the university

One issue that most applicants struggle with each year is knowing when to apply to the institution. The University of Johannesburg on April 01, 2024, opened its admissions to accept new applicants for the 2024/2025 academic calendar. On the same day, application packets for both undergraduate and graduate programs are made available. Their deadlines, however, are different from one another. Applicants who wish to switch to a different course or apply to UJ courses with available space must submit a late application through the application system between January 19, 2024, at 20:00, and January 25, 2023, at 14:00. Note that dates are subject to change. Candidates who meet the minimum admission requirements will only be allowed to use the late application portal with qualifications that have space available.

How to Apply for Admissions:
