The University of the Witwatersrand has formally opened the application status webpage, which allows students and anyone who apply for undergraduate or graduate courses to track and check the status of their applications. When applicants apply to study in the 2026 academic year, the website will inform them of their status. If you received a reference number for your application during the 2026 application window, you should check your status on the website.

How Do I Track My WITS Application 2026?
Applicants who apply for admission to the University can follow up on their application by filling out the following information. These procedures apply to both undergraduate and graduate students.
- Download the Chrome and Firefox web browsers.
- Visit https://self-service.wits.ac.za/ for further information.
- Please enter your student ID number.
- Please enter your password.
- To sign in, click the sign-in button.
- Currently enrolled students — Your current Student password is your Password.
- Candidates – Your password is your date of birth in the format (YYMMDD). SIGN IN” button to check and track your application.

Is Late Application Accepted at WITS?
Late Application is only considered when there are still available seats for some of the courses. The late application date is usually announced after the official closing date of the first application window.
