The University of Pretoria is now open for applications for both undergraduate and postgraduate programs. University of Pretoria Application Fee for 2026 Admissions
A non-refundable application fee of R300 (approximately 30 US dollars) is required when submitting your study application to the University of Pretoria for the 2026 academic year
Multiple Ways to Pay Your University of Pretoria Application Fee (for High-Income Households)
Here’s how you can pay your application fee to the University of Pretoria if your household income exceeds R150,000 per year:
- Pay directly through the online application system. Use your credit card during the application submission process.
- Make an electronic funds transfer (EFT) or bank deposit. Use the following bank details:

How to Apply at the University of Pretoria for 2026 Admissions
Prospective students who wish to enroll at the University of Pretoria for the 2026 academic year must take the following actions to submit an online application: www.up.ac.za Online Application 2026:
STEP 1: Login Details
- Type in www.upnet.up.ac.za/psc/upapply/.
- Select “Start New Application” from the drop-down menu.
- Accept the privacy notice by clicking OK.
STEP 2: Feed the Page
- Fill in the blanks with your information
- Double-check that the characters in the security code box are right
- Choose the Go option.
Step 3: Disclaimer Checklist
- A disclaimer appears; read it carefully before proceeding.
- Use the drop box to enter your information.
- Select the OK button.
- On the next screen, confirm your application and click Continue to proceed.
Step 4: Start Your Application
- An ID and a temporary Password are sent to your email
- Use this ID number and password to start your application by clicking on the link in your email
Step 5: Create a Permanent Password (Optional)
- Create your password if you so wish
- Click on the “save and next” Button to continue
Step 6: Review and Submit the Application Form
- The application summary page is open for editing. this is the starting point for the application
- Edit and start
- Submit your application after filling in the right information.
- Once your online application has been processed, you will receive a student number (EMPLID).
- Receiving a student number (EMPLID) does NOT imply that you have been accepted by the University of Pretoria yet. After your application has been evaluated by the relevant faculty, you will be admitted to the program.
University of Pretoria Admission Requirements
Prospectives must pass the following:
- National Senior Certificate (NSC)
- Mathematics: 5 (C Symbol: 60%-69%) (Note that Mathematical Literacy will not be accepted)
- Physical Science: 5 (C Symbol: 60%-69%)
- English or Afrikaans: 4 (D Symbol: 50%-59%)
- Life Orientation: 4 (D Symbol: 50%-59%) (Excluded when calculating the APS)
- Two other subjects: 4 (D Symbol: 50%-59%)
- An Admission Points Score (APS) of 32
- Admission test.
