The University of Venda’s undergraduate application is currently open to everyone for the academic year 2026.
The University of Venda is now accepting online applications for undergraduate programs for the 2026 academic year. Eligible candidates can submit their applications through the official website, www.univen.ac.za, by September 30, 2025.
First-year undergraduate applicants who have already submitted their applications for 2026 can now check the status of their applications based on their matric results. At UNIVEN, academic performance plays a more significant role in the admission process than the timing of the application.
UNIVEN Application Closing Date For 2026
The University of Venda now accepts undergraduate applications for the 2026 academic year from both native and foreign students. The deadline for applications is September ending. Prospective students should apply online ahead of the closing date so as to avoid missing out.
UNIVEN Late Applications
The University of Venda may accept late applications for undergraduate programs in 2026 if there are still spots available in the program you have chosen. Please apply as soon as possible to ensure your seat in the January 2026 intake, as there are only a limited number of spots available.

UNIVEN 2026 Undergraduate Application Documents (Required)
All documents must be certified copies. Double-check the application deadline and submit your complete application well in advance, together with the following:
General Requirements:
- Application fee: Proof of payment for the required application fee.
South African Applicants:
- ID: a certified copy of your South African identity document.
- Academic records: a certified copy of your final Grade 11 results or any Grade 12 results.
International Applicants:
- Identification: certified copies of your passport, proof of permanent residence, or identity document.
- Academic records: certified copies of your school results.
- Previous studies (if applicable): original academic record and certificate of conduct (if previously enrolled at another institution), certified copies of other qualifications.
- Additional documents: SAQA education certificate (for international qualifications) and HESA for National Diploma students.
Transfer Students:
- Previous studies: Diploma/diploma/degree, academic transcript.
- Identification: Identity Document.
- South African qualifications: National Senior Certificate.
- Proof of residence: Proof of your current address.

How to apply for undergraduate studies at University of Venda
Follow these easy steps to apply for the University of Venda (UNIVEN) undergraduate courses for the 2026 intake:

- At the top of the menu, click on “How to Apply.”.
Step 2: Create Your PIN
- Generate a 5-digit PIN that will serve as your login PIN on the student portal after admission.
Step 3: Prepare Your Documents
- Gather all required documents in the university’s specified format. You can find the list on the website or contact the Admissions Office for clarification.
Step 4: Pay the Application Fee
- Pay the non-refundable R100 application fee. Don’t worry; you can save and resume your application at any point during the process.
Step 5: Submit Your Application
- Carefully review your completed application form and uploaded documents.
- Click the “Submit” button to finalize your application and receive your student number.

University of Venda Admission Criteria
Degree Qualification
- National Senior Certificate (NSC): as certified by the Council for General and Further Education and Training (Umalusi) with an achievement rating of 4 (adequate achievement, 50-59%) or better in four subjects chosen from the recognized 20-credit NSC subjects.
- In addition, applicants must have a minimum point score of 26. A grade 12 certificate with a bachelor or matric exemption is required if grade 12 has been achieved.
Diploma Qualification
- The minimum admission requirement is a National Senior Certificate (NSC) as certified by Umalusi with an achievement rating of 3 (moderate achievement, 40-49%) or better in four recognized NSC 20-credit subjects.
