UJ Applications Open Now For 2026 Online

The University of Johannesburg (UJ) is now accepting applications for the 2026–2027 academic year. Online applications for undergraduate admission are open from April 1, 2025, to October 31, 2025, for both South African and international students. Prospective applicants are encouraged to visit the official UJ website, complete the online application, and submit their documents before the deadline to secure their place for the 2026 intake

When to Apply to UJ For 2026

Beginning on April 1, 2025, you can submit an application to the University of Johannesburg (UJ) for the January 2026 intake. For all new forms submitted in April 2025 to register students for academic courses in 2026, the UJ online application window will be open. Please submit your application by October 31, 2025, as soon as possible, due to space restrictions.

The University of Johannesburg UJ online application will close as scheduled below:

MEng/MPhil in Engineering Management (Coursework) will close on 30 September 2025 @ 12:00
BEd Hons Educational Psychology & MEd Educational Psychology will close on 23 June 2025 @ 12:00
Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) will close by 31 August 2025 @ 12:00
MA in Clinical Psychology & MA in Counselling Psychology will also close on 7 July 2025 @ 12:00
BA Hons in Psychology & BSc Hons in Psychology will open on 1 July 2024 and close on 30 September 2025 @ 12:00
College of Business and Economics will close by 30 September 2025 @ 12:00
All undergraduate programs will close by 31 October 2025 @ 12:00

UJ Online Application Requirements for 2026

Ready to apply online? You’ll need these documents first:

South African Applicants

Certified copies of your identification documents (ID)
Certified copy of your Grade 12 examination results (if completed)
Certified copy of your Grade 11 results (if you’re in Grade 12 right now)
A working email address is required

International Applicants

Certified copy of your native country’s identification document
Certified copy of your passport number from your home country
Study Visa for South Africa
Medical Report
English Proficiency: For undergraduate programs, proof of IELTS with an overall score of 6 and TOEFL with an average score of 80–104 is required. This is applicable for those whose high school courses were taught in a language other than English.

Please take note of the following:

Any diploma or degree that isn’t issued in South Africa needs to be evaluated by SAQA (for postgraduate levels) or HESA (for undergraduate levels) and is the responsibility of the prospective student.
