Who can apply?
Qualified and interested individuals with the necessary academic background and a passion for learning. TUT offers a diverse range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs across seven faculties: Arts & Design, Economics & Finance, Engineering & the Built Environment, Humanities, ICT, Management Sciences, and Science.
Application 2025 Required Documents:
Certified copies of the following:
- South African ID or Passport: Ensure the page with your name, photo, date of birth, and nationality is included.
- Academic Records:
- National Senior Certificate (NSC) and/or highest academic results.
- If you are currently in Grade 12, submit your Grade 11 results and a letter from your school stating you are busy with Grade 12.
- If you are upgrading your Matric results, submit a letter from the institution stating that you are busy upgrading and your expected completion date.
- Proof of payment of the R240 application fee: Please attach a copy of your receipt.
How to Apply for Admission at TUT: Application Method
Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) has two (2) forms of application. Prospective students may apply online or complete an Application for Admission form 2025-2026. All these forms are sanctioned by the authority of the university for 2025 admission and beyond.
Minimum general admission requirements for study at TUT
No person may be registered as a student in a programme of TUT unless he or she has complied with the following:
General admission requirements for TUT
- A pass mark in English at Senior Certificate level (minimum additional language; certain programmes may require first or home language status)
- Each course has its own specific admission requirements.
- Admission standards for different programs may change from year to year, so prospective students should keep this in mind.
- For some programmes, students will be required to write an admission test, which will determine whether they will be admitted to the programme, or whether it will be recommended to them that they enrol in a relevant foundation course.
