NSFAS Opening Date For 2026 Applications

The NSFAS application season for the 2026 academic year will kick off on September 1, 2025, and end on January 31, 2026. Prospective students will be considered for funding during the 2026 academic year. Eligibility Criteria for NSFAS Funding in 2026

To qualify for NSFAS funding for the 2026 academic intake, applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria:

• Must be a South African citizen.
• All beneficiaries of SASSA grants are eligible for funding.
• Household combined annual income should not exceed R350,000.
• For students with disabilities, the household combined income must not exceed R600,000.
• Students who started their studies before 2018 and have an annual household income below R122,000 are also eligible.

• Go to www.nsfas.org.za to get started
• Create your myNSFAS account
• Log into the account.
• Click on Apply Now

• Upload all supporting documents and click “continue.”
• Review your application to ensure accuracy, then submit your application form
