The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) portal is now open for applications from KCSE 2023 candidates and those who sat their exams between 2000 and 2022. This is your chance to take the next step towards your academic goals!

KUCCPS Application Date and Deadlines For 2024-2025

The application window for Kenyan universities and colleges is currently open. The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) portal began accepting applications on Thursday, February 8th, 2024, and will close on Thursday, February 22nd, 2024.

If you’re interested in applying to Kenyan universities or colleges, be sure to submit your application through the KUCCPS portal before the deadline.

When does the course application cycle begin for current KCSE candidates?

The application cycle begins during the third term, when KCSE examination candidates choose courses with guidance from their teachers. This stage is referred to as the center or school application.

KUCCPS Application Fee Requirements for 2024-2025?

The minimum placement processing fee payable during application is Ksh500. The cumulative maximum is Ksh1,500. The actual fee depends on the application stage; Ksh500 is charged for school applications and Ksh1,000 for revisions of choices. For revisions of choices, the payment is done once, and the transaction code from the first revision application is used in all subsequent revisions of choices.

Application Requirements and the Required Grade

A minimum grade of C+, C-, D, and E is required for admission to the university degree, diploma, craft certificate, and artisan certificate programs. Applications must be submitted through the KUCCPS platform. Applicants must adhere to the minimal subject requirements specified by education institutions and, if relevant, regulatory agencies.

Is enrollment in a program guaranteed if one meets the minimal requirements?  The competitiveness of an applicant (with other applicants for the same program) and the number of open spots (programme capacity) determine one’s ability to enroll in a course.

KUCCPS Online Application Guidelines For 2024 September Intake

There are 13 easy steps involved in applying through the KUCCPS. To apply via KUCCPS for the September 2024 intake, take the steps listed below.

Step № 1: Visit the KUCCPS website on www.kuccps.net

Step № 2: Click on the button marked: “Student’s Portal

Step No 3: Click on the button marked “LOGIN.”.

Step № 4: Enter your KCSE index number, year of KCSE, and password (KCPE index or birth certificate number) as provided by your teacher in secondary school.

Step № 5: Click on the button marked: “LOG IN” as shown

Step № 6: Click on the menu link “Institutions” to select your preferred choice

Step № 7: Click on the menu link “Programmes” to choose your preferred course of study

• You can write the code down for application later or add the programme to your course basket by clicking the button marked “ADD” next to the course
• The saved courses can be accessed by either clicking the menu item marked “Course Basket” or on the icon marked “Basket.”

Step № 8: When you are ready to make an application, click on the tab titled “Application/Revision

Step № 9: Click on “APPLY NOW” to proceed

Step № 10: Enter the 7-character programme codes for the programmes that the applicant most prefers

Step № 11: Submit the application form for consideration

Step № 12: Make a payment through Mpesa

• Go to M-PESA on your phone.
• Select Lipa na M-PESA option
• Select the Pay Bill option.
• Enter Business no.
• Enter your Reference number as it was sent to your mobile phone
• Enter the amount you intend to pay.
• Enter your M-PESA PIN and Send

Step № 13: The applicant can keep track of the changes made to the application by visiting the “Application/Revision” tab and moving to the “APPLICATION LOG” page

KUCCPS Placement Outcome/Results 

The release of the placement process outcome will happen after the completion of application processing. The exact date will be communicated through mass media.
