The application to study at any of the universities and colleges for the 2025 academic intake is now open to all people, regardless of background. Prospective Kenyan and international students must complete the university and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) college admission form to be accepted. Important KUCCPS Application Dates for 2025

Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) processes applications on behalf of Kenya’s universities and TVET institutions. They welcome applications from all qualifying students between May 1 and June 7 of each year. To be considered for placement, you must fill out the application form and attach all supporting documents by the deadline

Kenyan Universities and TVET Colleges General Application Date 2025

General Application Window: Most Kenyan universities and TVET colleges will accept applications for the 2025 intake from April 1 to October 31, 2025.
KUCCPS Application: If you’re applying through the KUCCPS platform, your application must be completed between May 17, 2025, and June 7, 2025.
Direct Application: Some universities allow direct applications through their online portals outside of the KUCCPS system

Universities and Tvet Colleges Application Fee Required

The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) application fee varies based on the application stage. For university or Tvet College applications, it is Ksh500, and for choice revision, it is Ksh 1,000. Please note that the application fee is non-refundable

Who is eligible to apply to Tvet College or Kenyan University?

Admission to degree programs for the 2024 academic year is restricted to students who scored a C+ or higher on the KCSE examination in 2024.

Form Four Leavers who took the KCSE exam between 2000 and 2023 and were never placed by KUCCPS are qualified to apply to all levels of courses, with the exception of degrees. They are limited to applying to TVET colleges’ courses.

Diploma Programmes is a C – (minus)
Craft Certificate Courses is a D (plain)

How to apply for university or TVET courses in Kenya

Follow the steps below to apply to any university or college via the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) for the 2025 academic intake

Go to the KUCCPS application website at www.kuccps.ac.ke
Click the Student’s Portal tab.
On the portal, click the Login tab.
Enter your KCSE Index Number
Enter your KCSE year and your password. (Your password is your KCPE index number or your birth certificate number.)
Once logged in, view the available courses, universities, and TVET colleges on the Programmes and Institutions tabs.
When you find the courses you want and qualify for, note down their programme codes.
To apply, click Application/Revision and key in the programme codes in the provided form in the order of priority.
Once the system has accepted all your programme codes
Submit your fully completed application form.
To pay the application fee, follow the on-screen directions.
Check your admission status after the deadline
