Is Vaal University Open For 2026 Intake Application

The Vaal University of Technology (VUT) has opened its 2026 application window for both undergraduate and postgraduate programs. Applicants, including both South Africans and non-South Africans, can apply via the online portal or download the application form for manual submission. Prospective students can select two study options during the application process.

Vaal University of Technology Online Application Dates for 2026

Applications for the 2026 academic year open on May 6, 2025, for all programs, and all undergraduate programs at VUT will close on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, except for the following courses, which will close by 31 August 2026:

Bachelor of Education in senior phase and FET Teaching
Diploma in Safety Management
Diploma in Labour Law
Policing
Diploma in Information Technology

Please Note

If you have not submitted all of the required application documentation listed in this post, your application will be rejected. Please keep in mind that if you do not submit the required documentation within two months, your application will be rejected.

The university receives more applications than it can handle, and meeting admissions requirements does not guarantee acceptance. If you are rejected at Vaal University of Technology, you can reapply for the 2026 academic year after considering the requirements of your preferred programme.

VUT Application Fee for 2026

Application Fee for South African Nationals: R110
Required for all South African applicants to complete the application process.
Application Fee for International Applicants: R120
Required for all international applicants to ensure application is reviewed.
Payment Reference for South African Nationals: Identity or student number
Applicants should reference their identity or student number when making the payment.
Payment Reference for International Applicants: Student ID or passport number
International applicants should use their student ID or passport number as the payment reference.

Certified copy of South African identity document.
Certified copy of final Grade 11 or any Grade 12 results.
Application forms without proof of payment will not be accepted. NB: In case of applications submitted by mail,

Foreign Nationals

Certified copies of passport, proof of permanent residence, / Identity Document
Certified copies of school results
Original academic record and certificate of conduct (if previously enrolled at another institution)
Certified copies of other qualifications

SAQA education certificate
HESA for National Diploma students

How to Apply for Vaal University of Technology (VUT) Online

To apply online at Vaal University of Technology (VUT) for 2026, follow the procedure below:

Visit the application page at www.vut.ac.za to apply.
Click the apply tab.
Entering your biodata, including a working email address, into the field provided will generate a unique number. ( Student number and PIN)
The student number and the PIN will be sent to the email address you provided.
When you return to the application portal, use this student number to log in.
Provide your academic background
Choose your course of study for 2026
To proceed, click the Save and Continue button.
All supporting documents must be uploaded. You will be unable to proceed if you leave a document behind.
Once you’ve received the number, proceed to pay the application fee
After making your payment, applicants should complete their process by reviewing to ensure all required fields are filled out.
When you’re certain, click the submission tab to send your fully completed application form.
You will be notified once it has been successfully submitted.
