Applications for Nsfas financial aid for the 2025–2026 academic year are open to eligible South African students enrolled in or about to enroll in Nsfas-approved courses. International students and UJ students ineligible for NSFAS should seek alternative funding sources.

UJ Manual Applications For 2025-2026

To apply manually at the University of Johannesburg, UJ, go to www.uj.ac.za and fill out the application form. Download and print the application form to complete by hand. You must fill out the form with a pen and fill in all the required fields with accurate information. After completing it, you can submit it, along with all supporting documents, to any of the four UJ campuses by October 31, 2024. Remember that late applications for 2025–2026 will not be accepted.

What are the requirements during the application process at UJ?

During the application process, you must have the following documents ready to upload via the online application portal for the 2025 intake:

Copies of your identification documents that have been certified (ID)
A certified copy of your Grade 12 examination results if you have completed
Certified copy of your Grade 11 (if you’re in Grade 12 right now)
A working email address is required
International Applicants
A certified copy of your native country’s identification document
A certified copy of your passport number from your home country
Study Visa in South Africa
Medical Report
English Proficiency For undergraduate programs, proof of IELTS with an overall score of 6 and TOEFL with an average score of 80–104 is required. For those whose high school courses were taught in a language other than English, this is applicable.

Provide your personal information, the address of your next of kin, the address of the person responsible for the account, and your email addresses when applying for admission to the University of Johannesburg.
