You can now apply for your preferred undergraduate or graduate course at one of South Africa’s top universities, whether you are a national or non-national student. Nelson Mandela University does not guarantee applications submitted beyond the deadline. We recommend that you apply as soon as possible to secure your position in the course.

To apply to Nelson Mandela University (NMU), you must complete the steps outlined below.

Step 1: Selection Criteria

  • You must meet the minimum and faculty requirements of the selected course.
  • Apply for up to three study programs on the same form.
  • Submit only one application form for 2026.
  • Submit a completed application form.

  • Proof of payment for the R500 application fee, only if you are a foreign student
  • A completed student support form (Disability Applicant)
  • Final grade 11 assessment results as per the Department of Education guidelines.

  • Proof of permanent residency, refugee or asylum-seeking status

  • Additional subjects and rewrite the results.

The application fee for the 2026 academic intake is as follows:.

  • R500 for international applicants
