How to Submit a New Application at VUT for 2026
Welcome to the VUT online application platform for Vaal University of Technology (VUT). By visiting this page, you’ve taken the first step toward submitting your application for the upcoming academic year. VUT is currently accepting applications for undergraduate and residence programs. For detailed application instructions, visit the “Study at VUT” section on the homepage at www.vut.ac.za for more tips and information on how to complete your application.
VUT Online Application for 2026: Opening and Closing Dates
- Application Opens: April 1, 2025
- Undergraduate Application Deadline: September 30, 2025
- Closing Date for Some Courses: August 31, 2025
Prospective students can apply online or via paper-based applications through the VUT website. It’s recommended to apply early to secure a place.
VUT Application Guidelines: Program Options and Application Fee Details
Prospective applicants can apply for up to 3 programs from any faculty at VUT, provided they meet the entry requirements. You may apply for two different study options. A non-refundable application fee is required, regardless of whether you are accepted for the 2026 academic year.

Application Requirements VUT 2026 Admission
You are required to provide the documents below, whether you are applying online or manually
- Certified copies of passport / Proof of permanent residence / Identity Document
- Certified copies of school results
- Original academic record and certificate of conduct (if previously enrolled at another institution)
- Certified copies of other qualifications
- Application fee
- SAQA education certificate
- HESA for National Diploma students
- Certified copy of final Grade 11 or any Grade 12 results.
How to Submit Online Application Forms For 2026
How to Apply for VUT 2026:
- Visit the application page at www.vut.ac.za to apply.
- Click the apply tab.
- Entering your biodata, including a working email address, into the field provided to generate a unique number. ( Student number and PIN)
- The student number and the PIN will be sent to the email address you provided.
- When you return to the application portal, use this student number to log in.
- Provide your academic background
- Choose your course of study for 2026
- To proceed, click the Save and Continue button.
- All supporting documents must be uploaded. You will be unable to proceed if you leave a document behind.
- Once you’ve received the number, proceed to pay the application fee
- After making your payment, applicants should complete their process by reviewing to ensure all required fields are filled out.
- When you’re certain, click the submission tab to send your fully completed application form.
- You will be notified once it has been successfully submitted.
Please Note:
If you applied before the deadline, have a 2026 student number, and missed submitting supporting documents, you can still submit them for consideration if space is available.
How to Check Your Application Status
Applicants will be notified via email of the outcome, or they can check the status of their application by following the steps below, which will redirect them to the ‘Application Status page
- Go to VUT status check ienabler website
- Click on the link you located “Application Status“
- Enter your student pin, Passport or ID Number that was issued to you during the application process.
- Click on the “SUBMIT” button to check and track.
