University of Johannesburg Application Window For 2026
The University of Johannesburg (UJ) is currently accepting applications for the academic year 2026. Prospective students can submit their applications online or in print. We provided all of the information you need to apply to UJ for the 2026 academic year in this post. Simply follow the directions, and you will be ready to apply
Important Dates for UJ Applications -2026
- Undergraduate Applications: Open from April 1, 2025, and close on October 31, 2025.
- Postgraduate Applications: Also open from April 1, 2025, with the closing date of October 31, 2025. Some postgraduate courses have earlier closing dates, so check and apply early.
- Residence Applications: Apply for accommodation before September 30, 2025.
University of Johannesburg Online Application Steps
To apply to UJ, follow these simple steps to complete your application:
Step 1: Scan Your Documents
Ensure the documents below are scanned into soft copies before you start:
For South African Applicants:
- Certified copy of your ID
- Certified Grade 12 results (or Grade 11 results if you are currently in Grade 12)
- A working email address for communication
For International Applicants:
- Certified copy of your passport
- Study Visa for South Africa (if applicable)
- English proficiency proof (IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL 80-104)
Step 2: Complete the Online Application
- Visit the official UJ website: www.uj.ac.za
- Click on the “Apply Now” button to access the online application platform.
- New Applicants: Select “New Applicant” and create an account.
- Choose your desired courses from UJ’s wide range of programs (undergraduate or postgraduate).
- Agree to the university’s terms and conditions.
Step 3: Submit Required Documents
- Once your application form is complete, upload all necessary documents in the prescribed formats (PDF or JPG).
Step 4: Application fee
- If you choose to apply via the application form (hard copy), you must pay a non-refundable application cost of R200. Make sure your application for submission contains proof of payment. The online application is free, and no application fee is required
