Whether you are a local or international student, you can currently apply for undergraduate or graduate studies at NMU by completing the necessary paperwork at www.nmu.ac.za.

When to Apply For 2026 to NMU

Although early application may not guarantee approval, it is strongly encouraged. Some courses will close before the 2026 general application season, which runs from April 1 to September 30, 2025. You must apply by the deadline to be considered for the 2026 academic year

Application Closing Dates Breakdown For 2026

  • MBChB applicants with the NBT (if applicable) must submit their applications between April 1 and May 31, 2025.
  • Applications for the Bachelor of Radiography (Diagnostic) program are being accepted from April 1 through June 30, 2025.
  • Early applications (excluding MBChB and BRad) are accepted from April 1 to August 4, 2025.
  • Late applications (except MBChB and BRad) are accepted from April 1 to September 30, 2025, and foreign student applications (excluding MBChB) are accepted from April 1 to September 30, 2025.

You must have at least a National Senior Certificate (NSC) or an equivalent credential to apply for admission to Nelson Mandela University for the 2026 academic year
