Applying to Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) (Process)

All prospective first-time or freshman students must apply online by following the steps outlined below:

  • Visit www.tut.ac.za to access the TUT homepage.
  • Click on the “MENU” button located in the top right corner.
  • Under the “STUDY AT TUT” section, select “I WANT TO STUDY.”
  • Click on “APPLICATION FORM AND INFORMATION.”
  • Enter your ID number (South African ID or valid passport).
  • Agree to the POPI Act terms to proceed.
  • Create a new user account by filling in your personal and contact details.
  • Check your inbox (including your spam folder) for your reference number.
  • After receiving confirmation, proceed with completing your application.
  • You can save your progress and return to finish later.
  • Ensure all required documents are submitted before the deadline.
  • Complete all necessary sections of the application form.
  • Select at least two courses.
  • Carefully fill in your academic history.
  • Review all your information before clicking the ‘submit’ button.
  • Pay the application fee and upload the payment receipt.

  • Bachelor’s Degrees: A minimum of four subjects passed at performance level 4.
  • Diplomas: A minimum of four subjects passed at performance level 3.

You have two options to log in:

Submit your information:
