It may appear strange to say that not every student has access to a smart device. However, this is a stated fact that no researcher can refute. Even though we live in a technological age, some students, even at the tertiary level, do not own cell phones. Unfortunately, students who do not own a cell phone or other smart device will be unable to apply for Nsfas. The good news is that such applicants have other options for using without owning a cell phone.

When applying for funding in 2023, what type of cell phone is expected?

Even though there are hard copy application methods, because the rest of the entire process is online, getting a smart device that can access the internet is recommended. You will be unable to create an account on a device that does not have internet access. If you cannot obtain a smartphone, go to a cafe and purchase some time to use their laptops or desktop computers. You can also create or transact business on your myNSFAS account using your parent’s smart device. All you need is a cell phone number, which could be from any phone other than a smartphone. This is required to obtain your OTP, which will be sent to your phone.
