Students interested in studying any undergraduate or Postgraduate programmes at the University of Kwazulu-Natal are encouraged to apply now, as the official admission window for 2024/2025 is now open. Starting From April 1 2023, applications will be accepted at the University of Kwazulu-Natal for 2024/2025 admission. Applicants can therefore apply electronically or manually after this date set by the university.

How to Apply at UKNZ For 2024 Admissions

The University of Kwazulu-Natal had two application forms. The Applicant then decides which of the two options is best for him or her. For the 2024/2025 academic year, applicants can apply either electronically or manually. The university’s administration has approved any of these methods.

Online Application: This is where an applicant applies via the admission portal set up by the university by following the steps outlined in this article. This is the fastest approach to applying for admission. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

Manual Application: This process/method involves an applicant downloading the application form, fill with ink and submit either by email or hand delivery to the admission office. This approach is usually slow in reaching the management for review.

When to Apply for Admissions at Uknz

The application window for the 2024/2025 academic is opened on April 1 and ends on 30 September 2023. Some of the programmes have application deadlines earlier than September. Who to Apply Online for 2024-2025 Admissions

South African first-time undergraduate applicants applying to UKZN must apply via CAO at www.cao.ac.za.
Applicants who are currently registered (or have been registered) at another institution

Hard Copy Application

N.B. Manual applications (Hard Copy) will not be accepted, and they will not be processed, with the following exceptions:

Does it Cost to Apply at UKNZ University (Local)

Prospective South African applicants who are interested in applying for admission at the University of Kwazulu-Natal should prepare a non-refundable amount as stated below:

Where applicable, R210 on-time applications and R420 late applications are permitted.
You will not be needed to pay an application fee if you are a current student who was enrolled in the previous academic year.

International Applicants

An international Applicants, the following information must be taken into consideration:

On the UKZN Application for Admission to Undergraduate Programs (International) form, applicants for full-time undergraduate studies must apply directly to UKZN.
UKZN charges a non-refundable application fee. On submission of their application, applicants must include proof of payment as well as all documentation asked.
Application and Proof of payment must reach the university before or on the date of closing for 2023 admissions.

UKNZ Admission Requirements

Prospective undergraduate applicants for any of the degree or diploma courses or Programmes must at least possess the following Qualifications:

Undergraduate Applicants: Local

Degree: Applicants to undergraduate degree programmes must be in possession of a National Senior Certificate for Degree Studies (NSC-Deg) or a Senior Certificate with endorsement.

Diploma: Applicants to undergraduate diploma programmes must be in possession of a National Senior Certificate for Diploma studies (NSC-Dip) or Senior Certificate.

International Applicants: International applicants are subject to a selection procedure based on academic merit and the number of spaces available. Applicants with non–South African school leaving certificates must contact the South African Matriculation Board directly to determine if they qualify for admission to degree studies in South Africa.
