DUT 2027 Application Opening and Closing Dates

Applications for the 2027 academic year at Durban University of Technology (DUT) officially open on 1 March 2026. Prospective undergraduate students are encouraged to submit their applications as early as possible.

The closing date for on-time applications is 31 October 2026. All applications submitted within this period will be processed under the standard application fee structure.

DUT 2027 Application Fees (South African & International Students)

Applicants who submit their applications within this period (March 1 – October 31) are required to pay the following application fees:

  • International applicants: R300

Late Applications

Applications received from November 2026 onwards will be regarded as late applications. Late submissions attract higher application fees, as outlined below, and will only be considered if space is still available in the selected programme after the official closing date.

  • International applicants: R570

Minimum Requirements for All Programs:

  • National Senior Certificate (NSC): Possessing an NSC is essential, with a minimum of 30% in the language of learning and teaching as certified by Umalusi.

Higher Certificate:

  • National Certificate (Vocational) Level 4: Achieve at least 50% in English to be eligible.

Diploma:

  • National Certificate (Vocational) Level 4: Meet these minimums:
  • 50% in three fundamental subjects, including English.
  • 60% in three compulsory vocational subjects.

Bachelor’s Degree:

  • National Certificate (Vocational) Level 4: Aim for these thresholds:
  • 60% in three fundamental subjects, including English.
  • 70% in four compulsory vocational subjects from your National Certificate (Vocational) Level.
