The University of Venda’s (UNIVEN) application deadline for the 2026 academic year is Friday, September 26, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. Late applications may not be accepted, so it’s recommended to apply early to avoid disappointment.

How to Apply for UNIVEN Online 2026

All first-time applicants are encouraged to apply online by following the steps below.

STEP 1: Login Details

  • Go to the UNIVEN application website: https://www.univen.ac.za
  • At the top menu of the page, click on “How to Apply.”

Step 2:  Create a PIN

  • The applicant will be required to create a pin consisting of five digits. This pin will be used as a login pin on the student portal when admitted to study with the University

Step 3: Upload the Required Documents

  • Gather your documents or upload further or outstanding documents. These documents must be in the format required by the university. Scan and upload the following:
    • copy of I.D. document or passport,
    • Grade 11 report or
    • statement of grade 12 results or copy of Matric Certificate

STEP 4: Pay Your Application Fee

  • Pay the Non-Refundable application fee of R100
  • During the online application process, you may save and return at a later stage to resume the application process.

Step 5: Submit Your Completed Application

  • Submit your completed online application form and documents. Review to ensure the right thing is done before clicking on the ‘submit button after completing your online forms
  • You will then get a student number.

How to Download the 2026 UNIVEN Application Form

If you have previously applied through the online system, you must download the application form from the UNIVEN website. Once completed, send the form, along with all required documents and proof of payment (including your ID number on the payment proof), to Student Administration.   • Your identification card or passport
  • Your Grade 11 final (December) results, stamped by the school
  • If you are a current student at another institution of higher learning, only your academic record will be considered.
  • Academic record and certificate of good conduct (if you have already studied at a tertiary institution).
  • Copy of study/residence permit, medical insurance, or SAQA Evaluation Certificate (if you are an international applicant).

The University of Venda Admission Criteria

Qualification Admission Criteria
Degree National Senior Certificate (NSC): as certified by the Council for General and Further Education and Training (Umalusi) with an achievement rating of 4 (adequate achievement, 50–59%) or better in four subjects chosen from the recognized 20-credit NSC subjects. In addition, applicants must have a minimum point score of 26. A grade 12 certificate with a bachelor or matric exemption is required if grade 12 has been achieved.
Diploma The minimum admission requirement is a National Senior Certificate (NSC) as certified by Umalusi with an achievement rating of 3 (moderate achievement, 40–49%) or better in four recognized NSC 20-credit subjects.
