If you’re looking to further your academic journey at one of South Africa’s top universities, the University of Cape Town (UCT) is now accepting applications for the 2026 academic year. The application period will open on April 1, 2025, and students are encouraged to apply for both undergraduate and postgraduate programs.
Relevant Application Dates for 2026
- Undergraduate Applications: April 1 – July 31, 2025
- Postgraduate Applications: April 1 – August 31, 2025
- Undergraduate Portfolio Submissions: Due by August 31, 2025 (for programs like Fine Art)
UCT requires an application fee for most programs, although students and graduates from South Africa and the Southern African Development Community (SADC) are exempt from this fee. Graduate School of Business (GSB) applicants must also pay the required application fee.
Application Fees for 2026
The application fee varies depending on your program and where you are applying from.
- Undergraduate and Postgraduate Applications (South Africa and SADC): R100
- Undergraduate and Postgraduate Applications (Outside SADC): R300
- Graduate School of Business (GSB) Applications (South Africa and African Citizens): R1,940
- GSB Applications (Outside Africa): USD 300

UCT accepts several payment methods, including:

- Credit Card
- Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT)
- Direct Bank Deposit
