Before applying, ensure that you meet one of the most basic academic requirements for a bachelor’s degree, as well as the minimum requirements and selection criteria for the program(s) to which you wish to apply. The Central University of Technology (CUT) receives thousands of applications each year, but because space is limited, it may be unable to accommodate you even if you meet all the admission requirements. What are the minimum academic requirements for a bachelor’s degree at CUT?

Before you consider applying for University, you must have

  • National Senior Certificate (NSC) as certified by the Council for General and Further Education and Training (Umalusi), with at least a 3 in English and a 4 in four NSC 20-credit subjects chosen from the NSC designated subject list.
  • The National Benchmark Test (NBT) is mandatory for all first-year applicants to higher education institutions. The test must be written before you can register to study at CUT.
  • Admission Points (AP) (minimum 27)
