UWC Online Application 2026 Undergraduate

University of the Western Cape (UWC) is already accepting applications for the 2026 academic year. The University of the Western Cape (UWC) is a major research university in South Africa, near Cape Town. UWC late applications for 2026

The University of the Western Cape (UWC) may consider late applications if there are still spaces available in the programs you want to study in for the academic year 2026 after the official deadline.

UWC admits a limited number of students to each program. As a result, we recommend that you apply during the application cycle so that your application is accepted and processed by the University of the Western Cape, UWC, for the 2026 academic intake, which begins in January 2026.

Please keep in mind that there are no application or registration fees at UWC.

Candidate from another university

If you are applying from another institution of higher learning, you need to submit certified copies of the following:

NSC Certificate or Senior Certificate
Identification document
A certificate of good conduct from your institution
Official Academic Transcript
Module content / Yearbook descriptor from your institution for all modules completed
Degree certificate (if applicable)

If you have written the NSC examination already, you need to submit the following:

Certified copy of your NSC certificate or Senior Certificate
A certified copy of your identification document
Proof of any studies with academic records, if applicable, you may have completed
If applicable, proof that you are currently improving your NSC results
In an affidavit, a brief description of activities post-matric/NSC

Foreign Applicants from countries other than South Africa

Minimum Entry Requirements to the University of the Western Cape For 2026

To be eligible for a UWC degree, diploma, or certificate, you must have the following qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree Entry Criteria:
- A National Senior Certificate (NSC), as certified by Umalusi with an achievement rating of 4 (adequate achievement, 50–59%) or better in four subjects chosen from the recognized 20-credit NSC subjects, is required for admission.
Diploma Entry Criteria:
- The minimum admission requirement is a National Senior Certificate as certified by Umalusi with an achievement rating of 3 (moderate Achievement, 40-49%) or better in four recognised NSC 20-credit subjects.
Higher Certificate Entry Criteria:
- The minimum admission requirement is a National Senior Certificate as certified by Umalusi.

After reviewing your documents, submit your completed online application form and documents. Click “submit” to send your application to UWC for review.
After submitting your online application, you will receive an email from the University acknowledging receipt of your application.
