UWC Online Application 2025/2026 Opening Date

Online applications are available for those interested in attending the University of the Western Cape (UWC) for the 2025–2026 academic year. All applicants must fulfill academic and non-academic requirements for the University of the Western Cape (UWC) to review their application and start the admissions process. Meeting the program or course requirements is necessary.

Students and prospective applicants, please mark your calendars! On Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at midnight SAST, the much-awaited UWC Online Application for the 2025–2026 academic year opens. Get your application materials together as soon as you can

All Applicants Should Know This

  • To apply online, applicants must have a valid email address. All correspondence from the institution regarding your application will be sent to you via email.
  • If you have a disability, please make sure that section of the online form is properly filled out so that they can contact you about your support needs.
  • Please also note that there is no separate application form for accommodation. If you answered yes to the question about university accommodation on the application, it means you have applied automatically.

University of the Western Cape Application and Enrollment Requirements 2025-2026

Anyone interested in applying to the University of the Western Cape (UWC) for the academic year 2025-2026 can do so online. Academic and non-academic documents must be provided by all prospective students

  • Certified copy of your NSC Certificate or Senior Certificate
  • A certified copy of your Identification document
  • Certified Certificate of good conduct from your current or previous institution
  • Certified Official Academic Transcript
  • Module content / Yearbook descriptor from your institution for all modules completed
  • Certified Degree certificate (if applicable)

UWC Online Application Closing Dates  For 2025-2026

The required documentation must be submitted by September 30, 2024, which is the deadline for applications.
August 31, 2024, is the deadline for applying to the Bachelor of Dentistry and Oral Health program and the School of Government. July 31, 2024, is the deadline for applications to the BA Honours Sports Recreation and Exercise Science, BA Honours in Biokinetics, and BSC Honours Biokinetics programs.

How to Apply for Admission 2025-2026 (International Student)

STEP 1: Check the ADMISSION section to see if you match the minimum requirements for the academic program you want to pursue.
STEP 2: Go to the EVALUATION area to get an exemption from Universities South Africa (USAF) or a South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) evaluation of international qualifications.
STEP 3: To apply for a place at UWC, go to the APPLICATIONS section below.
STEP 4: Review the information provided for the visa application or renewal process in the IMMIGRATION section below.
STEP 5: Go to the REGISTRATION area below and register by completing the pre-registration clearance process.
STEP 6: Continue to the ARRIVAL section below to be ready for your move to Cape Town.

How to Apply as a Domestic Applicant (SA Citizen)

STEP 1: LOGIN DETAILS

  • Visit the school’s page at “https://www.uwc.ac.za/apply-now.”
  • Click on “Apply Now.”

STEP 2: COURSE SELECTION

  • Read the instructions before you continue
  • Choose a programme
  • Check the entry Requirements

STEP 3: FILL OUT YOUR APPLICATION

  • Fill in the information required.
  • indicate the year of application
  • select your qualification

STEP 4: UPLOAD THE REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

  • Gather your documents or upload further or outstanding documents. These documents must be in the format required by the university.
    • Supporting documents are:
      • A certified copy of your ID document (for South African nationals, an ID document is required; your application will not be processed unless you provide a certified copy of your ID and your passport number for international applicants).
      • Exam Outcomes: Grade 12 final results (if available). The results of grade 11 (if you are now in grade 12) are crucial to your application. As a result, keep it on hand.
      • When applying online or by mail, you’ll need a unique email address

STEP 5: SUBMIT YOUR COMPLETED APPLICATION

  • Submit your completed online application form and documents after reviewing them. Click on “submit” to submit your application for review by UWC.

How to UPLOAD Necessary Documents

  • To upload important application materials, log in with your application number.
  • If you are a current student and need to upload a copy of your ID document, you must log in with your student number.

Keep track of your UWC application.

Check your application status after submitting the online form, and if an offer has been made, select whether to accept it or decline it. The status of applications is updated in real time on the portal.
