University of Limpopo 2027 Application Dates
The University of Limpopo (UL) application window for the 2027 academic year runs from 1 April 2026 to 31 October 2026. However, some programmes have earlier closing dates, so applicants should take note of the specific deadlines for their chosen courses.

What Documents Are Required for UL Online Applications?
Domestic and international applicants for the 2027 academic year must upload the following documents as part of the application process:
- Your ID if you are a South African citizen
- Your passport if you are an international student
- If you are under the age of 18, your guardian’s, ID parent’s, or passport
- National Senior Certificate if you have already matriculated
- Your final Grade 11 results with the school’s Stamp if you are still in Grade
- If you are a current student at another institution of higher learning, only your academic record will be considered.
- USAF accreditation from the examination board for South African universities. Only if you are an international student.
- Valid study permit (for applicants already in South Africa)
Admission Criteria for University of Limpopo Undergraduate Programs 2027
You need to meet the following entry requirements:
National Senior Certificate (NSC):
- Academic Essentials: Pass Life Orientation (minimum level 3) and English (minimum level 3) as per the university’s language policy.
- Subject Proficiency: Meet the specific subject requirements as listed in faculty calendars. Generally, for degree programs, you need four 20-credit subjects with a minimum level of 4, while diplomas require four subjects with a minimum level of 3.
Matriculation Certificate (pre-2008):
- If you completed Grade 12 before 2008, you can apply with your Matriculation Certificate and achieve full university exemption by converting your grades to an APS.
National Certificate (Vocational):
- Holders of an NC(V) Level 4 qualification must score at least 60% in 3 core subjects (including Life Orientation) and 70% in 4 relevant vocational subjects for degree programs. For diplomas, the minimums are 50% in 3 core subjects and 60% in 3 compulsory vocational subjects.
Other Qualifications:
- If your qualification differs from the NSC, seek verification from Higher Education South Africa (HESA).
Remember: Meeting these minimums doesn’t guarantee admission. Limited program spaces exist, so consider applying early!
