UKZN Online Application Closing Dates For 2026

The University of KwaZulu-Natal has set application dates for the 2026 academic year, which students must satisfy to be considered. These dates apply to both undergraduate and graduate candidates. What you need to apply

  • Access to a strong internet
  • An active email address that you can access regularly because, as soon as you submit your online application, a student number (EMPLID) will be sent to this email address as confirmation of receipt.

Who Qualifies to Apply for University of KwaZulu-Natal Admissions?

A qualified candidate is someone who meets the following criteria:

  •  Meets the admission requirements of the University of Kwazulu-Natal, i.e. General and specific faculty requirements
  • Applies and submits the fully Completed application form (Online)
  •  Uploads the required documents in their right format during the online application
  • Pays the online application and uploads the proof of payment during the online application
  • Provides active contact information where all communications will take place.

UKZN Applications Opening Date 2026

UKZN Calling all aspiring students! The University of Kwazulu-Natal (UKZN) is currently taking applications for undergraduate and postgraduate programs for the 2026 academic year. The application window opened on April 1st, 2025, and deadlines are approaching, as noted below!

Key Dates to Remember: (2026 January intake):

  • General Application Opening Date: Tuesday, April 1, 2025.
  • Medicine: Applications close on June 30th, 2025. Late applications are not accepted.
  • All other programs: Applications close on September 30th, 2025. Late applications will be considered only if there are courses available by the deadline
  • Early application is strongly encouraged! UKZN receives a high volume of applications during the initial window, making it difficult to consider late applications.
  • No walk-in applications will be accepted in January 2026.

UKZN Application Fee Due Date for 2026

Looking to apply to multiple universities through the CAO? Remember, you only pay one application fee, regardless of how many institutions you choose. But here’s the catch: the fee changes depending on when you submit your application.

  • Apply before October 31st, 2025, and pay only R250.
  • Late Application: From November 1st, 2025, the fee jumps to R470.

To pay your application fee, you have two options:

  • Go digital: Pay online and print a deposit slip with your CAO number for bank deposits.
  • Go physical: Head to any EasyPay facility and use your application and EasyPay numbers as references.

UKZN International Applications for 2026

For international applicants, the following information must be taken into consideration:

  • On the UKZN Application for Admission to Undergraduate Programs (International) form, applicants for full-time undergraduate studies must apply directly to UKZN.
  • UKZN charges a non-refundable application fee. On submission of their application, applicants must include proof of payment as well as all documentation requested.
  • Applications and proof of payment must reach the university before or on the date of closing for 2023 admissions.
