The University of Kwazulu-Natal announces the commencement of the application period for the 2025–2026 academic year. Prospective undergraduate students may submit their applications electronically through the designated portal or by downloading the application form for manual submission.

Undergraduate & Postgraduate Applications Now Open at UKZN (2025-2026 intake)
The University of Kwazulu-Natal (UKZN) is now accepting applications for both undergraduate and postgraduate programs for the 2025–2026 academic year. Starting April 1st, 2024, aspiring students can apply online or manually through the university’s official channels. Hurry and secure your spot at UKZN; applications are open now for 2025.
UKZN Application Deadlines for 2025-2026 Admissions
UKZN has announced application deadlines for the 2025–2026 academic year. Aspiring medical students must apply by June 30, 2024, as no late applications will be considered for this program. For all other undergraduate programs, the deadline is September 30, 2024. However, late applications for other programs may be considered after the official closing date

Apply Early for UKZN 2025: Late Applications Limited and Walk-ins Not Accepted
Prospective applicants are encouraged to submit their applications well before the deadline. Late applications are only considered for some courses with remaining space after standard closing dates. The university’s high volume of early applications prevents a second application window. Walk-in applications are not accepted for the January 2025 intake.
- Medicine applications: Close Sunday, June 30, 2024
- All other programs: Close on Monday, September 30, 2024,
When to Pay Application Fee for 2025-2026
Applicants pay one application fee only to the CAO, regardless of the number of institutions they apply to:
- If students apply before October 31, 2024, the CAO application fee is R250.
- The CAO application cost is R470 if students apply after November 1, 2024.
- Administration fees are paid either:
- By payment at any EasyPay facility using an application number and EasyPay number on the form as reference OR
- Via the Internet, applicants can print a deposit slip quoting the CAO number for bank deposits.
NOTE:
- Do not pay CAO administration fees to UKZN and do not enclose cash
- If the application fee is not received by the dates, the application will be denied or rejected.

For entry in Semester 2 (August 2025),
Prospective applicants must take note of the date below:
- 30 April 2023 (new applicants as well as returning UKZN students).
- Limited new applications may be allowed only to general programmes in Humanities and Management Studies where admission is considered.
International Applicants
For international applicants, the following information must be taken into consideration:
- On the UKZN Application for Admission to Undergraduate Programs (International) form, applicants for full-time undergraduate studies must apply directly to UKZN.
- UKZN charges a non-refundable application fee. On submission of their application, applicants must include proof of payment as well as all documentation requested.
- Applications and proof of payment must reach the university before or on the date of closing for 2023 admissions.

How Much Do International Applicants pay for Application
Prospective international applicants must be ready to pay these non-refundable applications and submit the proof during the application submission
- International SADC and rest of Africa R490
- Outside Africa $153
N.B.: Late Application is not considered for Internal Applicants for 2023 admissions.
