Gather Your Documents Before The Closing Dates
Locals:
- Copies of your identification documents that have been certified (ID)
- A certified copy of your Grade 12 examination results if you have completed
- Certified copy of your Grade 11 (if you’re in Grade 12 right now)
- A working email address is required.
Foreigners:
- A certified copy of your native country’s identification document
- A certified copy of your passport number from your home country
- Study Visa in South Africa
- Medical Report
- English Proficiency For undergraduate programs, proof of IELTS with an overall score of 6 and TOEFL with an average score of 80–104 is required. For those whose high school courses were taught in a language other than English, this is applicable.
Application Fee For 2026 Admissions:
The manual application attracts a fee of R200 that is non-refundable. This is payable by locals and foreigners ($11.82, subject to change due to exchange rate fluctuations). The online application is free of charge. Attach the original receipt of the payment when submitting your hard copy application form

Apply using the online forms for 2026
These are simplified methods of applying using the online application portal
- Get access to the internet and use the Mozilla firefox browser for your own good
- Enter www.uj.ac.za/Apply to commence
- Click on the new application option
- If you don’t have your student number, fill in the required spaces to generate your student number
- Log in with your student number that was sent to your email
- Choose your courses (first and second choice)
- Upload the required documents as listed above in their right format (tiff, pdf, jpg, and gif.)
- Submit the application after reviewing it for accuracy.
