UJ Online Application Portal Open For 2024-2025

The online application portal for the University of Johannesburg UJ for the 2024-2025 academic year is now open, and anyone interested in applying to the university can find all of the information they need on this page to complete the application form. The online application portal for the University of Johannesburg UJ is open from 1 April to 31 October 2023, and late applications for the 2024-2025 academic year will not be accepted.

WHEN TO APPLY TO UJ

The University of Johannesburg UJ Application Requirements

Before you can gain admission to the University of Johannesburg UJ, you must first satisfy certain academic and non-academic requirements.

Non-Academic Requirements

Documents: You will be required to upload certain documents to validate your application form when completing the online application to the university. These are referred to as supporting documents. These documents must be converted into pdf files before they can be uploaded online. Check out the list below.

South African Applicants

  • Copies of your identification documents that have been certified (ID)
  • A certified copy of your Grade 12 examination results if you have completed
  • Certified copy of your Grade 11 (if you’re in Grade 12 right now)
  • A working email address is required

International Applicants

  • A certified copy of your native country’s identification document
  •  A certified copy of your passport number from your home country
  • Study Visa in South Africa
  • Medical Report
  • English Proficiency For Undergraduate programs, proof of IELTS with an overall score of 6 and TOEFL with an average score of 80–104 is required. For those whose high school courses were taught in a language other than English, this is applicable.

Application Fees: One requirement is to pay a non-refundable application fee set by the university’s administration. If you fail to meet the other requirement, you will not be reimbursed. More information on the application fee and its associated banking information can be found here.

Academic Requirements

Undergraduate Certificate Study: Applicants should check with the Admissions Office or the relevant faculty to ensure their eligibility for undergraduate certificate study.

Undergraduate Diploma Study: The minimum requirement for admission to undergraduate diploma study is a National Senior Certificate (NSC) as certified by Umalusi with an achievement rating of 3 (Moderate Achievement, 40-49%) or better in 4 recognised NSC 20-credit subjects.

Bachelor’s Degree Study

  • To be eligible for admission to degree study, applicants need to meet the minimum requirements for eligibility:
  • Applicants holding a South African National Senior Certificate (NSC) need to pass a minimum of 4 subjects at a rating of 4 (Adequate Achievement, 50-59%) or better in any four 20-credit NSC subjects.
  • Applicants holding a South African Senior Certificate need matriculation endorsement.
  • Applicants holding non-South African school-leaving certificates must qualify for a matriculation exemption certificate. For more information please visit the website of the Matriculation Board.

How to Apply Online to the University of Johannesburg UJ for 2024-2025

Access internet access.

Enter “www.uj.ac.za/Apply” in the search box.

Select “New Applicant” from the drop-down menu.

To indicate your student number, select Yes/No from the drop box.

To indicate if you’re returning to finish an unfinished application, select Yes/No from the drop-down menu.

  • STEP 2: Courses Selection

Choose your Course after examining the specific course requirements.

This stage is very key to gaining admission into this University.

Consult people if you don’t know what to choose.

If applicable, enter a qualification token.

  • Step 3 Agree with the University Terns

Read the clause that appears.

Select “I Accept” from the drop-down menu.

To continue, select the “Next” option.

  • STEP 4: Applicant’s Information

Fill in your passport or ID number.

  • Step 5: Upload the Required Documents and Submit a fully completed form
