 Know these Before the 2025-2026 Online Application at UJ

Before one begins the application process, the following information must be read carefully by all prospective applicants for 2025–2026 admissions:

  • Valid email address (e.g., Gmail or Yahoo).

  • If Grade 12 is completed, certified and individually scanned documents are required.
  • When applying online, the following documents must be uploaded (not relevant to applicants currently in grade 12 or internal transfer/senior applicants):
  • Certification is required for all documents.
  • Make sure the scanned file is no larger than 512KB.
  • All materials are scanned in a variety of formats, including tiff, pdf, jpg, and gif.
  • Each document must be scanned and attached as a separate file.
  • Documents can also be emailed to ujappdocs@listsrv.uj.ac.za with the provisional reference or student number included in the subject line.

  • If you don’t already have a UJ student number, pay the R200 application fee and fill out the UJ academic application form.

Step 3: Submit the fully completed application form

  • Submit your application to one of the University of Jacksonville’s four campuses. Please wait three weeks before contacting us to inquire about the status of your application. If your application satisfies the minimum standards and space is available in your desired program, you will be notified if your application was successful or not.

Prospective Applicants must follow these procedures to apply online at the University of Johannesburg for 2023 admissions.

STEP 1: Login Information

  • Access the internet.
  • Enter “www.uj.ac.za/apply” in the search box.
  • Select “New Applicant” from the drop-down menu.
  • To indicate your student number, select Yes or No from the drop-down box.
  • To indicate if you’re returning to finish an unfinished application, select Yes or No from the drop-down menu.

STEP 2: Courses Selection

A student who is pursuing a bachelor’s degree has two study options. During the application process, postgraduate applicants are treated similarly.

When and how to receive the outcome of the application?:

Online applicants will receive either a final or deferred status within 48 hours. Hardcopy applicants will receive either a final or deferred status within 5 working days.

Can I apply via email?:

No, you may not apply via email. Applicants are encouraged to apply online. Applicants wanting to submit a hardcopy application form can submit their application form at any of the four UJ campuses, or the application can be sent via post to the university.
