University of Johannesburg Application Fee For 2026
Do you intend to enroll at UJ in 2026? Good news updates! Applications for the internet (online applications) are free! That’s right, you’ll save R200 if you don’t handle the paperwork. A non-refundable application fee must be paid if you would prefer to submit your application in hard copy.

Step 1: Choose Course
- Choose between options 1 and 2 for your qualification study. (Please make sure you meet the entrance standards outlined in this prospectus.)
Step 2: Payment of Application FEE
- If you don’t already have a UJ student number, pay the R200 application fee and fill out the UJ academic application form.
Step 3: Submit the fully completed application form
- Submit your application to one of the University of Johannesburg’s four campuses. Please wait three weeks before contacting us to inquire about the status of your application. If your application satisfies the minimum standards and space is available in your desired program, you will be notified if your application was successful or not.

UJ Application Materials Required For 2026
To be considered for admission to the University of Johannesburg, applicants must submit the supporting documentation listed below.
South African Citizens
- Copies of your identification documents that have been certified (ID)
- A certified copy of your Grade 12 examination results
- Certified copy of your Grade 11 (if you’re in Grade 12 right now)
- An email address is required.
International Students
- A certified copy of your native country’s identification document
- A certified copy of your passport number from your home country
- Study Visa in South Africa
- Medical Report
- English Proficiency For undergraduate programs, proof of IELTS with an overall score of 6 and TOEFL with an average score of 80–104 is required.
- You can take the English Language Programme Test at the University of Johannesburg (UJELP).

UJ Entry and Admission Requirements
- To be able to gain access to a faculty and to a specific programme, applicants are required to have the appropriate combination of recognised National Senior Certificate (NSC) or Independent Examinations Board (IEB) subjects as well as certain levels of achievement in available subjects
- Learners who have not written the National Senior Certificate (NSC) or Independent Examinations Board (IEB) final examinations but fall into the categories listed below will be referred to the faculties* for faculty-specific selection:
- ACE School of Tomorrow
- NCV, NASCA, SC(a)
- N3/N4/N5/N6 results
- Any other final school-leaving certificates are not mentioned.
- PsyCaD evaluation and NBT results may be required.
