The university management has officially approved Wednesday, 1 April 2026, as the opening date for the 2027 application window.

Application Fees for UCT 2027 Applications

The University of Cape Town (UCT) charges an application fee based on the applicant’s region. Prospective students are advised to prepare the applicable fee as outlined below:

Undergraduate and General Applications

  • SADC (Southern African Development Community) Applicants: R100
  • Non-SADC (International) Applicants: R300

Graduate School of Business (GSB) Applications

For programmes offered by the UCT Graduate School of Business:

  • South African & African Applicants: R1,940
  • Non-African Applicants: USD 300

UCT Minimum Admission Requirements

Undergraduate Diploma Study

The minimum requirement for admission to an undergraduate diploma programme is:

  • A National Senior Certificate (NSC) certified by Umalusi
  • An achievement rating of Level 3 (40–49%) or higher in at least four recognised NSC 20-credit subjects

Undergraduate Certificate Study

To determine eligibility for undergraduate certificate programmes, applicants should:

Bachelor’s Degree Study

To qualify for degree studies, applicants must meet the following minimum criteria:

  • Must obtain a matriculation endorsement
