Do you intend to apply to the University of Cape Town for the academic year 2026? If YES, then you need to understand the handling or processing fee for the 2026 academic intake. To cover administrative costs associated with application processing, UCT charges an application fee for all undergraduate and postgraduate online applications.

UCT does not accept late payments. The university will only accept applications that are accurately completed and submitted by the deadline, along with all required supporting documentation, including proof of payment.

UCT Key Application Dates Breakdown

  • Undergraduate Programs: All undergraduate applications will close on 31 July 2025
  • Postgraduate Programs: Postgraduate candidates have until 31 August 2025 to submit all application documents

Application Fees For 2026

The application fees depend on your residency status and the program you are applying for. Please note: Application fees are non-refundable, and paying the fee does not guarantee acceptance.

UCT offers several convenient payment methods for the application fee:

Online Payment:

  • The easiest and fastest option. You can pay directly through the UCT online application portal using a credit card.

Bank Deposit or EFT:

You can make a direct deposit into UCT’s bank account. Use the following details:

Cash Payment:

  • During the application period, you can also pay the application fee at the UCT Cashiers Office located on campus in Rondebosch, Western Cape

Important Notes

  • Non-refundable: Application fees are not refundable, even if your application is unsuccessful.
  • Payment Confirmation: Make sure to keep proof of payment. Your application cannot be processed without the fee.
