Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) has opened its application portal/login/form for the 2026 academic year to all prospective students interested in undergraduate or postgraduate degrees. The January 2026 intake applications will be considered from March 1, 2025, until September 30, 2025. To apply, go to the TUT application portal at www.tut.ac.za and submit your application form to the admissions office by the deadline. We urge students from all over the world to apply.
Who Can Apply?
TUT welcomes applications from both South African citizens and international students, provided they meet the general admission criteria and the specific requirements of their selected faculty.
Best Time to Apply to TUT
The perfect period to apply is between March 1 and September 30, 2025, for the academic year 2026. TUT will only accept late applications if there is still available space after the deadline.
Required Documents
To be considered for admission, applicants must submit the following:
- A completed application form
- Recently certified copies of your ID, National Senior Certificate, and/or highest academic qualifications
- Proof of payment for the application fee

How to Apply
To apply online, follow these steps:
- Visit the TUT Online Application website: https://www.tut.ac.za/
- Click on “Study@TUT” in the top right corner.
- Select “Apply Now.”
- Indicate whether you have a student number or are a new applicant.
- Choose if you are completing an existing application.
- Accept the consent form.
- Follow the prompts to fill out your application.
- Provide accurate personal information.
- Select your desired program(s).
- Upload all required documents in PDF.
- Click submit after review for correction
- Submit your application and pay the application fee online using a credit or debit card.
- You will receive a confirmation email with your application reference number, and you can track your application status on the portal.

Non-refundable Application Fee
The application fee for 2026 is R240. This non-refundable fee covers administrative processing costs. Payment can be made via postal order, electronic transfer, or direct bank deposit to the following account:

Admission Requirements
Before applying, ensure you meet the following criteria:
- Each program has its specific requirements.
- A pass in English at the Senior Certificate level is necessary (minimum additional language; some programs may require first or home language).
- Admission requirements may change annually, and some programs may require an admission test.
