Stellenbosch University has opened its online application portal for undergraduate and postgraduate courses for the 2026 academic year. Starting from April 1, 2025, applicants can log in at www.sun.ac.za to begin the application process. South African citizens will need their ID number, while international students must use their passport number to access the portal. Application Open Date:

Starting Tuesday, April 1, 2025, Stellenbosch University accepts online applications for all undergraduate, master’s, and doctorate programs.

Application Deadlines:

Undergraduate & Residences: July 31, 2025
Postgraduate Programs: September 30, 2025
Financial Aid: November 30, 2025
Diplomas in Public Accountability: January 26, 2025

Application Portal: Access the application portal at www.sun.ac.za using a mobile device and a strong internet connection.

Login Requirements: South African applicants need their ID number, while international applicants need their passport number.

Application Progress: You can restart your application at the last section if you cannot finish, using your student number and a 5-digit PIN.

Submission: Complete the application and upload supporting documents to submit.

Tracking: Use your student number and PIN to track your application status on the portal. If you forget your PIN, reset it via email.

Stellenbosch University 2026 Application: Document Upload and Fees

Preferred File Formats: Stellenbosch University prefers PDF documents for the application, but doc, docx, jpg, jpeg, and png files are also accepted.

Document Certification: Documents must be certified at a local police station within 90 days of submission.

Profile Creation: Applicants must create an online profile using an email address and phone number for their 2026 application.

Application Fees: The application fee is R100 for South African applicants and R110 for international applicants.

Final grade 11 assessment results as per the Department of Education guidelines.
National Senior Certificate (NSC) or IEB/Statement of symbols of final school results

International Applicants

Proof of permanent residency, refugee or asylum-seeking status
Grade 11 results (pre-final) and final-year school subjects with levels
Final school results from the International Curriculum (Cambridge International, International Baccalaureate, etc.), including School of Tomorrow.
Additional subject and rewrite results.

How to Log in to Stellenbosch University Portal

To log in to the Stellenbosch University portal, follow these steps:

Click on the username textbox and enter your student ID.
In the password textbox, enter your university password.
Once logged in, you’ll see a list of all the modules you’re registered for.
Use your complete email address and current password to access the portal
