Every year, a pool of applications is received at the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS), and the 2024/2025 academic year will be no exception. Applicants who applied for funding during the 2024/2025 application session will receive feedback on their applications from the scheme or will be given access to a portal to track their applications. This is known as “Application Status.”

The timeline for completing the selection process for qualified candidates

Application results will be shared with all applicants once NSFAS receives confirmation from the institution that an academic offer has been made to applicants. Applicants will be notified via SMS, email, and myNSFAS account before the start of the academic year.

Can I Monitor My Application with Nsfas

The myNSFAS portal allows a candidate who applied for a loan or bursary to keep track of the situation. After providing the system with the necessary information, the following actions can be carried out by users on this platform:

  • Please upload any missing supporting documents.
  • Uploading a completed application form
  • When necessary, update existing information.

How to Monitor the Status of Your Application

Follow these steps to keep track of your application if you have internet access on your smart device:

  • STEP 1: Enter the URL for the official website: www.nsfas.org.za
  • STEP 2: Locate and select the myNSFAS Portal tab.
  • STEP 3: Enter your myNSFAS login information.
  • STEP 4: Sign in to view your status for free.

How to Update Your Details

To update your cellphone number or email address:

  •  Log on to your myNSFAS account using your Username (email address) and password.
  • Once you have logged in click Personal Details on the top of your screen.
  • You will then be able to update your cellphone number and email address.
