Applications for 2025–2026 are regrettably still too early. The UCT undergraduate application period typically opens in April of the year, before the start of the school year. You should therefore expect the application period for 2025–2026 to begin in April 2024.

When will applications open?

Normally, applications must be submitted by April 1st of the year prior. Thus, in this instance, the application portal is anticipated to open in April 2024 for the 2025–2026 academic year.

Current Status of the UCT Application:

Undergraduate applications for 2024 are closed. The deadline for submitting applications for the upcoming academic year (starting in January 2024) was August 4, 2023.

Postgraduate applications for 2024 coursework programs are also closed. Check the 2024 Directions for Postgraduate Applicants for faculty- or program-specific closing dates.

PhD applications: You can still apply for a PhD through the relevant faculty office.

2025-2026 Application Timeline:

Undergraduate applications: The application period for the 2025–2026 academic year opens on April 1, 2024. Be sure to check the UCT website regularly for updates and exact dates.
