Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) is excited to announce that the 2026 application cycle will open in April 2025! Prospective students, regardless of language, race, nationality, or belief, are encouraged to prepare all necessary academic and non-academic documents in advance of the 2026 application window.

Application Process for TUT

Students wishing to apply for undergraduate programs (diplomas, higher certificates, bachelor’s degrees) and postgraduate programs (master’s and doctoral degrees) for the 2026 academic year must submit separate applications for each program, along with the required documentation. However, there is only one application fee for both undergraduate and postgraduate applications.

Key 2026 TUT Application Dates

Be sure to mark the following important dates if you plan to apply for the 2026 academic intake at Tshwane University of Technology:

• April 1, 2025 (Tuesday): Opening of all TUT Academic and Residential Applications.

• Undergraduate Programs:
  All applications close by September 30, 2025.

• Postgraduate Programs:

  • International Applicants: Applications close by June 15, 2025.
  • January Intake: Applications close by February 28, 2026.
  • July Intake: Applications close by July 31, 2026.

• Student Accommodation:
  Applications for accommodation close by September 30, 2025.

Undergraduate Applicants:

• Completed application form
• Certified copies of your identity document and National Senior Certificate (not older than one year)
• Proof of application fee payment

Postgraduate Applicants:

• Identity document
• Proof of completed diploma or degree requirements
• Academic record from any previous tertiary institution

Important Notes

Make sure to provide all required documentation, as incomplete applications will be rejected. If your application is rejected, you can reapply in the next application cycle.

When filling out the application form, indicate whether you wish to apply for housing. Students accepted into a full-time program may be eligible for on-campus accommodation.

Application Fee

A non-refundable application fee of R240 is required from all prospective students applying to Tshwane University of Technology for the 2026 academic year. Ensure that the payment is made before the deadline, as late payments will not be accepted. Please include the proof of payment with your application submission.

• Fill in the online application form with the information required. Asterisks (*) are indicated on the REQUIRED/COMPULSORY field. Forfeiting any of those will render your application void.
  

STEP 3: Upload The Required Documents

• Gather your documents or upload further/outstanding documents. These documents must be in the format required by the university.

STEP 4: Submit your Application

• Submit your completed online application form and documents. Review to ensure the right thing is done before clicking on the SUBMIT Button
  

STEP 5: Pay the Application Fee

• Deposit the R240 fee at ABSA Bank (Account Number: 04 000 000 3) and include your ID number as the reference.
