How To Complete Online Application At NWU For 2026

The online application for the academic year 2026 at North-West University is still open to all prospective applicants. For the 2026 intake, North-West University will not accept hard copies but online applications.

Only after all required fields have been completed can an application for admission be submitted online to North-West University. However, most applicants must submit additional information after submitting an initial application.

NWU Application Process for 2026

If you submitted your application online, but the status of your application on the North-West University application portal has not changed as of the closing date. This could be because, despite providing additional information, you were still denied admission. This could mean you haven’t met the admissions requirements yet. Contact the Admissions Office for more information, or check the online portal to see if you have left a required field blank. Make every effort to submit the necessary corrections before the June 30 deadline if you are applying for an undergraduate course.

Important Dates for NWU Applications 2026

Applications for undergraduate studies at North-West University in South Africa for 2026 will open on April 3, 2025, and close on August 31, 2025. Ensure you meet all of the requirements and submit the documents on time.

Enter your student pin and password that were issued to you during the application process.
Click on the “Log in” button to check and track your application.

Click on “Forgotten your PIN.”.
Read the instruction and complete the open requested fields. Click “Next”.
Your PIN will be sent to your email address and the cell phone number you applied with.

How to Apply for North-West University 2026 Admission

Follow the steps below to apply or complete the online application form for NWU.

Navigate to the application platform online at www.nwu.ac.za
When you click on Application Login, the Login screen will appear.
Complete all of the fields after clicking on Create new student number.
If you already have a university number, enter it into the portal.
When you receive a student number, log in with it and the PIN number you created. Keep your student ID and PIN secure. You’ll require it in the future.
Fill out all of the fields. Utilize the yearbooks to learn more about the qualifications, modes of delivery, and curriculum.
Please include any supporting documentation. The university may reject an application if it is incomplete.
Please ensure that you press the “Submit Application” button once you have completed your application to ensure that NWU receives it.

Documents for Undergraduate Applicants

A mobile phone and an active email address are required
Grade 12 results, grade 11 results (final results only), or a copy of your matric certificate if you have already passed matric.
Applicants who are currently upgrading their grade 12 results will only be considered after the improved results are presented to the NWU.
Applicants who follow Cambridge, GED, or any other non-NSC curriculum, or who may qualify for exemption based on advanced age or post-school qualifications, must provide an exemption certificate as issued by USAF.
