The application form for the 2026 academic year is now open, and the University of South Africa invites the general public to apply for several undergraduate and graduate programs. If a prospective student satisfies all of the requirements, they should apply as soon as feasible.
Application Period for 2026 Admissions at UNISA
The 2026 application period for undergraduate programs at UNISA will run from August 11 to October 14, 2025, while postgraduate applications will be accepted from September 11 to November 14, 2025. It’s important to submit your application within these timeframes, as late submissions will not be accepted.

Application Fee For UNISA 2026 Admissions
First-time applicants are required to pay a non-refundable application fee of R135.00. This fee helps cover the processing of the application and is applicable to both undergraduate and postgraduate applicants. Existing students with a student number are exempt from paying this fee.

How to Apply Online at UNISA
The University of South Africa accepts only online applications. Follow the steps below
- Apply on the Unisa website using your valid email address and phone number.
- Start the online application by logging onto the Unisa online study website.
- Choose the study option you want to apply for and your preferred qualification.
- Please provide your personal information and documents as needed.
- Select your chosen study mode.
- Make sure to include all essential documents, such as
- A copy of South African ID (Locals) and Passport Number (International Applicants)
- A copy of School qualifications, i.e. Senior Certificate and National Senior Certificates
- If Married, Provide the Marriage certificate or state divorce if applicable
- Official academic records of the tertiary attended.
- Once UNISA receives all of your information, it will assess your application and update your status
- Fill up your financial information to pay the application cost.
- Following successful payment, you will receive an email confirming that your application has been submitted.
