How to Apply Online at Unisa for 2024/2025: The Management of the UNIVERSITY OF SOUTH AFRICA wishes to inform all interested and qualified applicants who want to apply for admission into the university for the 2024/2025 academic can do so. Unisa Application Opening and Closing Dates: The application portal only becomes active for applicants to access from September 1 to 14 October 2023 for undergraduate programmes. Post-graduate diploma and
Masters/ Doctoral qualification closes on October 14 and November 11 2023 respectively.
Unisa Online Late Applications for 2024/2025
- Unisa has extended the deadline for some undergraduate programs until December 7th, 2022.
- Some Honors and Postgraduate Diplomas have been extended until December 7, 2023, for the 2023/2024 academic year.
- The deadline for postgraduate diplomas at UGSBL remains November 30, 2023.
- Some Master’s and Doctoral program application deadlines have been extended until January 31, 2023.
- Applications and registration for the Short Learning Programme are open from November 14, 2023, to February 28, 2024.
How to Apply Online at Unisa
Prospective applicants who are interested in applying for admission must apply by following these steps
STEP 1 – Login Details.
- Visit the school’s web page at www.unisa.ac.za
- Select admissions on the next page
- From the pop-up options, applicants should select “Apply for admission”
STEP 2 – Level Of Education.
- Applicants are to select their level of education. In this case Undergraduate qualification
- On the next page select “step 4, apply for admission
- On the next page select “apply for admission”
- From the new page select “click here to apply” under the “How To Apply option”
- Reselect your level of education.
- As a new applicant select “no” from the Do you have a student number option.
STEP 3 – Personal Details
- Provide your name (both first and last name)
- Provide your date of birth
STEP 4 – Admission Calculation
- Applicants applying should select the current level of education they have reached.
STEP 5 – Qualification
- Select your first choice of study which is compulsory.
- Select your second choice of study. This option is optional.
STEP 6 – Preview Of Qualifications
- Applicants should carefully go through the courses they selected to make sure its right.
STEP 7 – Detailed Personal Details
- Re-provide your first and last name.
- Provide your date of birth
- Country of origin
STEP 8 – Contact Details
- Persons applying should provide their home, fax and cellular number
- Applicants are also required to provide their e-mail address
STEP 9 – Postal Address
- Provide your place of residence and country.
- Proceed to select your hometown from the next page
- Provide a physical also on the next page
- A courier address would also be required.
STEP 10 – Provide Details of your Nationality
- Applicants would be required to give details concerning their language, nationality, and occupation amongst other details.
STEP 11 – Further Information
- Applicants would be asked a YES or NO series of questions to answer for more details
STEP 12 – Educational Background
- Applicants are to provide a background on their education history.
STEP 13 – Declaration
- Read all information on the declaration and accept to proceed.
STEP 14 – Required Documents
- Upload all documents required to finalize the application process.
STEP 15 – Payments of Application Fee
- The online application process for the University of South Africa (Unisa) costs applicants a non-refundable amount of R120,00., and potential applicants are not required to pay any kind of application fee after this payment. Additionally, applicants are not allowed to pay any money to a third party in order to ask for assistance in becoming accepted. Performance determines acceptance rather than the protocol.
N.B.: The application fee is only payable to first-time applicants. The due date for the application fee is the closing date for the application period

All Prospective applicants who are interested in applying for the first time in Unisa must upload all the required documents:
- A copy of South African ID (Locals) and Passport Number (International Applicants)
- Documents that were not originally in English must have a sworn translation.
- A copy of School qualifications i.e. Senior Certificate and National Senior Certificates
- If Married, Provide the Marriage certificate or state divorce if applicable
- Official Academic records of the tertiary attended.
