When to Apply for the University of Pretoria for 2024-2025

The University of Pretoria’s online application form for the academic year 2024-2025 is open from Saturday, April 01 2023. Applications for all Undergraduate and Postgraduate programs will open on April 01, 2023. University of Pretoria Online application fee for 2024-2025

The handling or application fee for online applications is R300 for South Africans and USD30 for international applicants, respectively. Proof of payment must be attached to the application form and submitted as soon as possible before the application deadline for the 2024 intake. Applicants should be aware that failure to pay the application fee for 2024 will result in their application being rejected.

Paying the application fee does not guarantee admission, and your money will not be refunded if you are not accepted for the 2024/2025 academic year. If you are rejected for 2024, you must complete a new application form and pay a new application fee.

Prospective applicants must apply for up to THREE programs from any faculty of their choice, assuming they meet the entry requirements for each. You may apply for THREE different study options. If you want to apply for both undergraduate and postgraduate programs, you must do so separately and provide the necessary documentation for each.

Applicants seeking Undergraduate ( CERTIFICATE, DIPLOMA & BACHELOR) qualification

Certified copy of your ID/passport document (compulsory).
Certified Grade 11 end-of-year examination results (for those currently in grade 12) or your National Senior/Matric/IEB Certificate (if you have already completed Grade 12).
Certified copies of your degree certificate(s) and academic record (if you attended or are currently a student at UP or another university).
Certified copy of your marriage certificate (if applicable).
Proof of payment of the compulsory and non-refundable application fee

Applicants seeking Postgraduate (MASTERS & DOCTORATE) qualifications

Certified copies of the following documents:
Matric exemption certificate (including subject marks)
ID document / Passport / Work permit / Study permit
Diploma/Degree certificate/s
Comprehensive academic record (indicating marks obtained for subjects)
Certificate of registration with the relevant professions council (if applicable)
Letter of appointment as a registrar with a date of assumption of duty: applicants for M Med and M Dent students NB: letter from the employer, e.g. Hospital HR.
Motivational letter and CV (Public Health applicants only)
Medical aid (Non-South Africans)
Students with non-South African qualifications must attach a SAQA evaluation certificate with their previous degrees obtained

How to Apply Online for the University of Pretoria 2024-2025

To apply online form to the University of Pretoria, follow the steps below:

Step № 1: Go to www.upnet.up.ac.za/psc/upapply.
Step № 2: Choose “Start New Application” from the drop-down menu.
Step № 3: On the privacy notice pop-up, click OK.
Step № 4: Fill in the blanks with your information (Personal information)
Step № 5: Check that the characters in the security code field are entered correctly.
Step № 6: Go to the Go tab.
Step № 7: A disclaimer appears; carefully read it before proceeding (Do not discard this page)
Step № 8: Fill in your information in the provided Dropbox.
Step № 9: Select the OK button.
Step № 10: On the next page, confirm your application and click continue to proceed.
Step № 11: An ID and a temporary Password will be emailed to you. During the application process, a working email address is required.
Step № 12: Start your application with this ID number and password by clicking on the link in your email.
Step № 13: If you want, you can create your own password.
Step № 14: To proceed, click the “save and next” button.
Step № 1: The application summary page is now editable. This is the application’s starting point.
Step № 15: Start and edit your online application
Step № 16: Upload the necessary documents in the proper format.
Step № 17: Pay your non-refundable application fee into the university’s official account.
