The Durban University of Technology Online application fee for 2024-2025

The handling or application fee for online applications is R250 for South Africans and R300 for international applicants, respectively. Proof of payment must be attached to the application form and submitted as soon as possible before the application deadline for the 2024 intake. Applicants should be aware that failure to pay the application fee for 2024 will result in their application being rejected.

Paying the application fee does not guarantee admission, and your money will not be refunded if you are not accepted for the 2024/2025 academic year. If you are rejected for 2024, you must complete a new application form and pay a new application fee.

Prospective applicants must apply for up to two programs from any faculty of their choice, assuming they meet the entry requirements for each. You may apply for two different study options. If you want to apply for both undergraduate and postgraduate programs, you must do so separately and provide the necessary documentation for each.

The Durban University of Technology Online Application Requirements for 2024-2025

There is a need to attach the following documents to the fully completed application form before the deadline for submission for the 2024-2025 academic year. You are reminded not to leave any documents out while uploading them online.

Applicants seeking Undergraduate ( CERTIFICATE, DIPLOMA & BACHELOR) qualification

  • Certified copy of your ID/passport document (compulsory).
  • Certified Grade 11 end-of-year examination results (for those currently in grade 12) or your National Senior/Matric/IEB Certificate (if you have already completed Grade 12).
  • Certified copies of your degree certificate(s) and academic record (if you attended or are currently a student at DUT or another university).
  • Certified copy of your marriage certificate (if applicable).
  • Proof of payment of the compulsory and non-refundable application fee

Applicants seeking Postgraduate (MASTERS & DOCTORATE) qualifications

  • Certified copies of the following documents:
  • Matric exemption certificate (including subject marks)
  • ID document / Passport / Work permit / Study permit
  • Diploma/Degree certificate/s
  • Comprehensive academic record (indicating marks obtained for subjects)
  • Certificate of registration with the relevant professions council (if applicable)
  • Letter of appointment as a registrar with a date of assumption of duty: applicants for M Med and M Dent students NB: letter from the employer, e.g. Hospital HR.
  • Motivational letter and CV (Public Health applicants only)
  • Medical aid (Non-South Africans)
  • Students with non-South African qualifications must attach a SAQA evaluation certificate with their previous degrees obtained

How to Apply for DUT 2024-2025

To apply online form at DUT, follow the steps below:

  • A prospective student interested in studying at DUT should apply through the CAO, which can be found at www.cao.ac.za.)
  • Please complete the CAO application form online and attach/upload certified copies of your identity document as well as your final Grade 11 and Grade 12 certificate (June/Trial report if you have not yet written your final exams).
  • For Higher Certificate, Diploma, and Degree programs, the application form must be received by the CAO office before the deadline of November 30, 2023. Please refer to individual programs for detailed ending dates, as some programs end sooner than November 30, 2023.
