DUT Application Form For 2027 Now Available

We are pleased to inform prospective students that the Durban University of Technology (DUT) has officially opened its 2027 application process. Applicants who wish to pursue undergraduate or postgraduate qualifications are encouraged to submit their applications as soon as possible.

Applications must be submitted through the Central Applications Office (CAO), as DUT does not accept direct applications. The application form is available online via the CAO website.

When can I apply?

You can apply to study at DUT for the 2027 academic year between March 1 and October 31, 2026. Any application submitted after this date will not be processed unless space is still available in the selected course.

Application Fee Breakdown for 2027

To apply to Durban University of Technology for the 2027 academic year, the following application fee applies:

  • South African citizens: R250
  • International applicants: R300

This application fee is non-refundable.

How to Apply to Durban University of Technology (DUT)

All first-time applicants wishing to enrol in Diploma, Higher Certificate, Bachelor’s degree, Honours, or Postgraduate Diploma programmes β€” both local and international β€” must apply through the Central Applications Office (CAO) website at www.cao.ac.za.

Supporting documents such as a certified copy of your ID, academic results, and proof of payment of the application fee must be submitted via the CAO portal.

Only postgraduate applicants (such as those applying for Master’s or Doctoral programmes) are permitted to apply directly to the Durban University of Technology (DUT).

  • Fully Completed Application Form
  • certified copies of your ID or passport;
  • Grade 11/12 results:
  • academic record (if you have already attended other colleges, including DUT)
  • proof of payment of the non-refundable application fee.

All Programs National Senior Certificate (NSC) with at least 30% in the language of instruction
Higher Certificate National Certificate (Vocational) Level 4 with at least 50% in English
Diploma National Certificate (Vocational) Level 4 – At least 50% in three fundamental subjects, including English At least 60% in three compulsory vocational subjects
Bachelor’s Degree National Certificate (Vocational) Level – At least 60% in three fundamental subjects, including English- At least 70% in four compulsory vocational subjects, chosen from the National Certificate (Vocational) Level
