Durban University of Technology (DUT) 2027 Application Key Dates

- Regular Closing Date: 31 October 2026
- Late Applications: Starting 1 November 2026 (considered only if space is available)
How Much Is the DUT Application Fee for 2027?
Since undergraduate applications to the Durban University of Technology (DUT) are processed through the Central Applications Office (CAO), the application fee is set by the CAO administration.
Below are the official CAO application fees for 2027:
- Domestic students: R250
- International students: R300
Note: These fees are non-refundable. If your application is unsuccessful or you decide not to proceed, the fee will not be refunded.
Late Application Fee
From November 1, 2026, the CAO will open late applications for qualifications with available spaces at DUT. During this period, prospective students will be required to pay the following processing fees:
- Domestic students: R470
- International students: R580
How to Pay Your Application Fee
The CAO offers several convenient ways to pay. Your application will only be processed once the payment has been cleared.
- Online Payment: Use the “Pay Now” feature on the CAO website using a Credit or Debit card.
- EasyPay: You can pay at any EasyPay outlet (found in stores like Pick n Pay, Checkers, or Shoprite) using the unique number provided on your application form.
What Happens After You Pay the Application Fee?
After you have paid the application fee and submitted your documents:
- Assessment by CAO – The Central Application Office (CAO) reviews all submitted applications and evaluates them against the programme entry requirements.
- Forwarding to DUT – Applications of qualified candidates are sent to Durban University of Technology (DUT) for the university’s final admission decisions.
- Issuing Offer Letters – Depending on the availability of spaces, DUT will issue offer letters to all eligible applicants. Students must accept the offer within a specified timeframe. Note: Accepting the offer does not require any payment until the official registration period.
How to apply to DUT through CAO (Undergraduates only)
Step 1: Contact CAO Office
- Contact the CAO by telephone, email, or letter and have your details captured.
Step 2: Receive Package from CAO Office
- Once your details have been recorded, the CAO will send you a package containing the CAO handbook and application forms.
Step 3: Registration Details
- The Admissions Office will also receive your details via the CAO, informing them of registration dates and venues, and will post you specific career leaflets for your choice of study.
STEP 4: Complete Application Form and Payment
- Fill out the application form, pay the CAO application fee, and deliver it to the CAO according to the instructions in your CAO manual.
Step 5: Track Your Application Status
- Your information will now be available on the CAO and affiliated institutions if you have also chosen another institution.
- The selection process now begins, and the DUT Student Admissions Office will keep you updated on the status.
