  • Certified copy of your SAQA/HESA evaluation certificate;

  • International students (passport holders) accepted for studies at CUT are required by law to, upon receipt of their admission or acceptance letters, immediately apply for a study visa

Once you have all the information, complete the CUT online application by following the steps below:

  • Visit enroll.cut.ac.za/pls/prodi41/gen.gw1pkg.gw1view to start your application.
  • Current students: Log into the iEnabler Portal using your student number and pin.
  • New applicants: Ensure you have an active email address for all communication.
  • Click the “NEXT” button on each page to save your data.
  • Complete the application process by clicking the “SUBMIT APPLICATION” button at the end.
  • You should receive a confirmation email after successfully submitting your application.

CUT Entry Requirements for 2026

  • A candidate for a University of Technology degree, diploma, or certificate must be in possession of at least the NSC or equivalent qualification approved by the Senate.
  • A candidate must score at least 27 or more points on the CUT scoring scale for admission to CUT. However, admission to a particular programme is subject to the requirements of that programme
  • Life orientation forms part of the final score, with a maximum value of one.
  • A candidate is expected to possess a minimum level of proficiency in English since this is the language of learning and teaching (LoLT) at CUT. A mark of 50% for English as a Home Language (vernacular) or First Additional Language is therefore considered sufficient, although any proof of proficiency in the English language will also be taken into consideration.

Please Note:

The minimum admission requirements for a bachelor’s degree programme remain the same, namely, a NSC with a minimum of 30% in the language of learning and teaching of the Higher Education Institution (HEI), coupled with an achievement rating of 4 (50–59%) or better in any four (4) NSC subject except life orientation.

International Applicants

To study at CUT, international applicants are required to have achieved the equivalent of a South African National Senior Certificate (NSC) with a degree endorsement. All international applicants with high school results or qualifications achieved outside of the Republic of South Africa require a certificate of exemption from the Matriculation Board of South Africa (USAf) for admission into undergraduate studies.
