CPUT Online Application Login Open Now For 2025-2026
The application period to start a new program at Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) for the 2025–2026 academic year is May 13, 2024, to September 30, 2024. Applications can be submitted online at www.cput.ac.za using your ID or passport number. There will also be a late application period later in 2024. Be sure to read all instructions carefully and complete all required sections, as incomplete applications will not be processed.
What You Need to Access the CPUT Application Portal
Unless otherwise specified, all applications must be submitted online. This means that all first-year and returning students must use the online application portal to complete the forms and submit all required documents to CPUT. You will need a smart device with internet access and a valid email address to access the application portal to apply or track your admission status. When accessing the CPUT application portal, you must also provide your ID or passport number.
Applicants with a South African Matric (students without a CPUT student number) can use the Online Wizard to apply. Applicants to CPUT may save and return to the Online Wizard; however, ONCE AN APPLICATION FORM IS SUBMITTED, you must log into the SOS SYSTEM at: www.cput.ac.za/students/about/sos. If you have a CPUT student number, continue your online application by visiting Student Online System (SOS): www.cput.ac.za/students/about/sos. Make sure to submit your online application form before the deadline.

Eligibility Criteria to Use the CPUT Online Application Portal
The CPUT application portal is officially open to the following group of people:
- Non-South African citizens
- South African citizens with international (non-SA) qualifications
- Applicants with permanent residency in South Africa
- Applicants with Refugee status and Asylum Seeker permits
- Non-SA citizens applying for RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning)
- Non-SA Returning students with a break in studies (more than 1-year break)
Please Note:
The online application portal has been tested and is accessible through a PC or laptop. It is not guaranteed to support Tablets or Smartphones.
When uploading documents through the CPUT application portal, ensure the scanned file is no more than 2MB in size and that all documents are scanned in tiff, pdf, jpg, or gif file formats. Any other document file format will not work with the CPUT online application portal. Remember to scan and upload each document separately as an attachment. By answering YES to the following question on the application portal, outstanding documentation can be uploaded: Have you started an online application with CPUT yet? If so, select YES, I want to submit additional documentation.

How to Apply Online at CPUT
To apply online to the Cape Peninsula University of Technology, follow the steps below:
- Access the following link: http://www.cput.ac.za/study/apply
- Choose a qualification and special requirements
- Gather your documents or upload further/outstanding documents
- Do not complete Step 3 – this is for manual application submissions only
- Complete the Online Applications form
- On the left side of the page select Step 4 to continue with the Online Application Process
- Acceptance of POPI Act Clause
- Verification/ updating of Biographical Information and Residence Required (IMPORTANT
- INFORMATION TO BE UPDATED)
- Verification/ updating of Applicant’s Address Information
- Verification/ updating of Applicant’s Contact Information
- Verification/ updating of Next of Kin and Address Information
- Verification/ updating of Disability Information
- Verification/ updating of School Leaving Information (IMPORTANT INFORMATION TO BE

Required Documents for CPUT Online Application
If you applying for the 2025 intake, ensure the documents are valid and certified
Applicants from South Africa
- Proof of your application fee payment ( An Applicant must provide a copy)
- Your identity document’s first page (This must be certified)
- A copy of the Senior Certificate or a comparable qualification (Certified). Please submit your Grade 11 grades. If you’re in Grade 12 right now,
- Original Academic Records and a Certificate of Conduct, as well as verified copies of any other certificates, diplomas, or degrees you have previously acquired from any other higher education institution.
Foreign Applicants
- All qualification documents
- Academic transcripts
- Final certificates
- SAQA certificate (compulsory for all International applicants)
- Passport or Refugee/Asylum Seeker Permit
N.B.:
Any additional documentation required for the program to which you are applying, as specified in the application form and admission Requirements, must be submitted.
CPUT Application Fee For 2025-2026
You must pay an R100 non-refundable application fee before your application can be processed. With your application form, you must include a copy of your payment proof. Keep the original payment proof in a secure location.
Late applications received after the official closing date will incur an R150 non-refundable fee. Late applications are only accepted if the institution has made them public on its website.
